Birthdays – A Celebration Of Life

march3138Last week was my moms’ 83rd birthday. We usually go out to eat, but as my daughter just had a new baby, I thought it would be easier to cook and invited everyone to my house. My daughter called and told me that Liam was just getting over the flu, so I told her not to worry, we’ll bring the party to her. So, I packed up the food, cake and the appetizers and filled the trunk. I could not wait to see Caleb and Liam and Natalie, my grandkids and I know my mom wanted to see them too. My cousin Veronica came with us and Sandra and my sister were there too. A full house of family fun. Thank God.

While everyone was nibbling on fruit, cheese and  the chip and dip I was busy getting lunch ready. I made chicken cutlet parm and broiled shrimp, linguine with broccoli and garlic and oil and a salad. Everyone was hungry!

I bet you think I thought the cake was the best part, well, not this time. march313The best part was holding my new grandson.  I love to be around my daughter and her family, nothing fancy, just comfortable and feeling good, like being home.

My mom thought that Caleb looked like my dad, and my sister and I agreed right away.  But as the afternoon passed and I was holding and looking at him, I realized, boy he really looks like Caleb 🙂
