You’re Having A Holiday Party!

  • You don’t have to spend alot of money to decorate and host a holiday party this year.  Use what you have around you to decorate  and whats around your neightborhood for your bash.

String lights around the doors, windows or the  buffet table.

Fill same/like  colored ornaments in a large glass bowls and vases

Find large serving platters at the Dollar Stores or borrow from your family and friends. (I like to buy solid colors  or clear platters, they go with every season all year round).

Suggest that your  guests each  bring their  favorite bottle of wine to the party for everyone to sample

Almost every  supermarket offer whole dinner packages (including dessert)  for 10 people. Pick up the dinner,  place bowls of nuts and olives for when your guests arrive – go put on your party best and enjoy your guests and your party. Have a wonderful time  :)

 

Play a board game and pretty soon everyone will be  talking , laughing and having a great time!

Dixit Journey Any One?

 It is always fun when the family gathers and we pull out all the games.

We shout and scream with laughter at the silly mistakes we make.

 I believe games bring families together…you gather around a table, and talk, laugh, scream, and be silly with each other.

Liz and I  recently were introduced to a game called Dixit  Journey.

 Ok, how do you play it?   Well, 6 cards are are dealt out and the active player secretly selects one of his cards and gives a very brief description.  Now the game begins…who will guess which card  the clue is referencing.

Really, Dixit is an easy game to play, if I figured how to play it in a few minutes, then believe me it is easy.   We played with  my husband Bill…now that is one person that does not easily sit down to play games…and he likes to cheat.Oh, Liz stop being so serious it’s only a game.  Yes, Liz takes games very seriously…her goal is always to win…

Who won this game? Well lets say it is not who wins or loses but how you play the game.

We Love You Beatles!

When ever me and Merci get together with our sisters and friends, you know that the favorite topic – after 2 hours of discussing our hair – is the Beatles!!… John, Paul, George and Ringo were and still are,  and forever will be near and dear to us all. We thought we knew every little thing  about them …but this Beatle Trivia game proved us wrong. We not only learned a few new things, but we had a lot of fun playing, laughing, singing  and remembering. 

20 days til Christmas :)
