Last week I too the day off the take Miss Penny to the vet.  I thought she had a cyst under her tail.  Turns out, she had swollen anal glands on the right and left side.  She was constantly licking herself, more than usual.  I’m glad I went to see the vet, he told me Penny had a fever.  He squeezed the left gland and it popped, disgusting.  When he went to squeeze the right side, it just started to bleed.  I almost started crying and then he told me this was very common in dogs and cats.

So he gave her a shot and sent me home with 2 types of pills,  I have to bring her back tomorrow for a follow up. Miss Penny had to wear a head guard for the whole week, so not to lick , and the area could heal.  She has been a real  trouper. I tell her she looks like a French model.  Hopefully, the doctor will give her thumbs up tomorrow and she won’t have to have surgery to remove the infected gland.  Keeping my  fingers crossed

To top the week off, we  got a visit from Nemo the storm, turned out to be not as bad as expected, but Miss Penny did not like it.
