Time To Play – Back To Basics

May 3, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Last week I went to the Time To Play Spring Showcase event, featuring more than 25 leading toy manufacturers and entertainment companies.

I was surprised to see that alot of the new things, well seemed to be pretty basic stuff.  The kind of fun stuff I grew up with.  This made me smile. I could not wait to share with Liam and Natalie.  Here are some of the things they liked the best.

Crayola table had a tiny tube that fits in your cup holder, filled with mess free color wonder of over 10 ft of coloring (18)  sheets and 3 color markers.  Just roll and rip , stick on surfaces and show.  Great for car rides.   Natalie and Liam take coloring very serious.

Natalie was so happy with Polly Pocket Doll and Kitchen Playset.  All the pieces come with mini suction cups, ready to stick and play!!

Natalie also loved the Pop Girl Nail Charms – Sweet Tooth Collection.  Wear them and share them – safe and easy stick-on fashion nails! No glue needed.

While Natalie was playing with Polly Pocket,  Liam took all the cardboard packages and made a robot (it took a while) and colored him.  Simple, that’s what fun is all about.

Tiny Tots and Jakks Logos

Liz and I had the best time at the 2012 toy fair.
There we were in a room filled, corner to corner, with amazing new toys, NYC Toy Fair At JAKKS Pacific Showroom was a childhood dream come true…OMG!
JAKKS’ Pacific Showroom reminded us of Santa’s completed workshop, all the toys nice and ready for all the girls and boys.
Being grandparents we were excited to be apart of the new, soon to be released, toys.

CUBIKALS – My grandson will love these…perfect for his little hands.

ZOMBIES…I think zombies are beating the vampires…Walking Dead Pump and Shoot TV Game is the newest title to join the JAKKS’ Plug It In & Play Motion Portfolio and lets you shoot Zoombies just like in the hit AMC show!

TINK  and a little  ”BIG WHEEL… My granddaughter is a Tink fanatic, she cannot get enough of this little fairy…

Toys that turn into slippers…

And the list goes on – JAKKS’ Tollytots division has a diverse line of fun musical toys from Baby Genius and building blocks from Rubik’s and Safety 1st intended to spark imagination and development.  Entertainment highlights for 2012 include products based on Men in Black 3, Walking Dead, Cinderella, Disney Fairies Secret of the Wings, The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and more.
