Birthday Girl #Hot Tubbing #Winter

My granddaughter just turned ten.   Of course a birthday celebration was in order.

The big 1 0!  How fast they grow.  What a lovely little lady she is becoming.

Now that she is TEN her birthday cakes are no longer decorated with fairy tale princesses.  Oh, no! Now her cake proudly displays a picture of   Luke Bryan, country singer.  Luke Bryan has now taken the cake.  Sophie is in love with Luke.  Country music is her favorite and he tops her country favorite list.

But the birthday girl’s party was not all about birthday cakes and country singers.

It was also about her family’s new hot tub!

I couldn’t believe it when my granddaughter stepped out in her swim suit  and proceeded to walk outside to experience the new hot tub.  When she walked out I was aghast.  Didn’t she see the snow outside and would she not be cold.  It’s winter!   Then I saw the parade of others.  All in their swimming suits and casually  heading  out the back to share the moment with Sophie.

Are these adults nuts!  I assumed they had been kicked in the head from the Moscow Mule drinks.

As Sophie’s mother, aunts, and cousin lounged in the hot tub, in 30 degree temperature, surrounded by ice and snow, they showed no signs of cold.  It appeared the heat from the hot tub kept them all very comfortably warm.   I was invited to join them but just couldn’t see myself casually strutting outside in my swimsuit and it wasn’t 90 degrees outside.  Just couldn’t do it.

Looking back on it now I wished I had joined them.  I allowed my fear of the cold to stop me from experience a new experience.     Next time I think I will give it a try…next time, yes, maybe next time. You only live once you know.
