The end of your child’s school year is almost here. How do you show appreciation to the teacher who spent the last 9 months teaching your child? How about a simple thank you note.
Encourage your child to write about a memory from the year or draw a picture. or send a thank-you note yourself, but don’t be tempted to dash off a quick, “Thanks for a great year.” Instead, put a little thought into it. Make it sincere, include something you noticed that was a positive influence on your child. Maybe the teacher worked with your child on a particular math problem like learning long division, you could write, “You made it click.” Even about a reprimand. “You talked to my son/daughter about using a loud voice, we have been having problems with that too,” And end the note with, “Thank you for choosing to be a teacher.'”
Yes, an old fashion idea, but it will truly be appreciated. Kind words, written on paper, by the hand of the giver, what a lost art. So go ahead take the time to truly thank your child’s teacher. Give them a note of thanks, give them kind words of appreciation. There is nothing like the written word.
