My daughter tried to tell me about extreme couponing around three years ago. I listened and told her I know how to use coupons, I clipped coupons for years when I was first married and she was a little girl. Too many times I would forget to take them with me when I went to the supermarket. Aggrevation. Well, now we have extreme couponing, and my daughter is obsessed. As you can see from this video, I hadn’t a clue then. Look how young Liam was – so cute.
Vera watches the shows and writes up her shopping adventures on her blog. Only problem right now, she is on maternity bed rest and had to find someone to go shopping for her. Her husband did it a couple of times, then, last week I got the call. “Do you think you can come over and go shopping for me. I will have all the coupons and shopping list ready for you?” Always had a hard time saying no to the girl. “OK, sounds like fun.” She sent me to King Kullen in Garden City Park, on Jericho Turnpike. She might well have said Jerusalem, Isreal because I have a very bad sense of direction. I was sick to my stomach. Thank God for my GPS. Just want to say that the King Kullen was one of the the most beautiful supermarket I’ve been to. I had to pick up around 25 items – no problem. I found everything and headed to cash out.
The woman at the cash register was a doll, not so much the lady behind me. Seems I saved over $50.00 with the double coupons. The bill was $74.00 and I paid $20.71. While I was there I picked up some dog food and cookies for Miss Penny. That cost me $13.00 – you guessed it – no coupon. 🙂 Vera was so surprised that I got back so quick and her husband Bill whispered to me – I think you did too good a job. “Mom, do you think you can come again next week?” Is it March yet?
