The worst thing about this crazy pandemic was the distancing of my family. I had had enough of being away from my grandkids and my children after 3 months of isolation. As we slowly began to gravitate to each other and not allowing this virus to separate us, we agreed that distance was worse than the virus, so inch, by inch, step, by step we once again embraced the family unit with God’s blessing.
Then out of the blue we were invited to spend a few days in PA, with extended family. A place that is totally isolated from the world of noise, no internet connection, no cell phone connection, just a land line to reach the outside world. I had no idea that a place like this could still exist. We were all happy to go, to have 3 days of total isolation from the rest of the not so sane world. When we arrived I immediately knew these 3 days were going to be a time to reconnect with each other. Surrounded by God’s amazing creation, nature. Of course, my grandchildren were not to impressed with their surroundings, what no internet! But after the a few hours of complaints they also began to embrace the freedoms that nature provided.

A flowing stream that became a path of adventure and getting feet wet. Sitting alone, with phone. No connection, Takes awhile to set in.

Loved the idea that no matter where we roamed we all ended up back in the same place together.

And as day continued to march on – even without internet or phone connection – we always gathered around the BBQ to share a meal.

Yes, this little cabin allowed us to be a family. No fear, no stress, no world outside of the cabin’s four walls. What a blessed time we were given. FAMILY…I tell you there is nothing like it.
