Who eats dark chocolate with food? Or, who would have even considered pairing dark chocolate with Turkey Lasagna , Creamy Butternut Squash Soup?
Well the answer is HERSHEY’S Dark Chocolate The New Dessert
Did you know that Dark chocolate is the NEW DESSERT?
Well not exactly brand new but new in the culinary experience.
Liz and I had our taste buds blown away with Lasagna paired with Hershey’s kisses.
Roasted Beet and Orange Salad with Chocolate hazelnut Vinaigrette paired with Hershey’s Brookside Dark Chocolate. How about Roasted Fall Root Vegetable Frittata paired with Hershey’s Nuggets Special Dark Chocolate with Almonds, my favorite, and Trio of Corstinis with Hershey’s Scharffen Berger Semisweet Dark Chocolate
Also, Creamy Butternut Squash Soup with Parmesan and Prosciutto Toast paired with Hershey’s Bliss Dark Chocolate.
I tell you Hershey’s has come a long way from the original Hershey’s bars that I grew up with and those melt in your mouth Hershey kisses, a big favorite with our grand kids.
Now we get to pair the Dark Hershey chocolates with some very tasty recipes.
You too can get to taste the Dark Hershey Chocolate with a recipe that we got to enjoy.
Roasted Fall Root Vegetable Frittata
Ingredients:
1/2 celery root
1 carrot
1 parsnip
4 swiss Chard leaves
1 clove of garlic
1 shallot
4 eggs
1 cup of light cream
1/2 cup of ricotta cheese, reduced fat
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Peel and dice the celery root, carrot and parsnip. Season with salt and pepper and oil. Roast @ 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
2. Clean the Swiss chard and roughly chop. Mince the garlic and shallot. In a sauce pan over medium heat, sweat the Swiss chard down with the garlic and shallot until soft. Try to drain all the liquid from the Swiss chard after it is done cooking.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and the light cream. Fold in the ricotta and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Add the drained Swiss chard and combine.
4. Spray a 10-inch tart tin with nonstick cooking spray. Pour in the filling mixture. bake the frittata at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
5. Sprinkle the remainder of the parmesan cheese on top of the frittata 3 minutes before it is done baking.
6. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Slice and serve.
Now don’t forget to serve with Hershey’s Nuggets Special Dark Chocolate with Almonds.
