Make A Face by Ricardo Alegria Jr #bookworm

Truly life is better when you are drawing. This book is so much fun, filled with inspiration and new ways to express yourself. This is a lovely book for kids and adults together. Draw your feelings. Make a Face is an interactive, concept-driven picture book that shows how different facial expressions connect with different emotions by pairing them with corresponding animals who “come to life” as children make different faces on cue.

Happy Birthday at AcQua Restaurant in Merrick #TastyTuesday

Friends and family  are blessings and when I count my blessings I count these women twice. Birthday Girl Marlene chose AcQua Restaurant in Merrick for her birthday celebration dinner, she always hits the mark and the best part is we had a Groupon. Score! Starting with some house wine, a little fried calamari and cold  antipasto plate, because sharing is caring. At AcQua meals are family style which means plenty plenty.

The main course included Eggplant Parmigiana enough for a small army. Chicken Francese which we gobbled up – sorry no left overs. Vodka Penne because we love both and Chicken Scarpariello. We got two chicken dishes because Marlene is not big on seafood and it was her day.  She got to take home the left overs to enjoy with her granddaughter.

When it came time to blow out the candle and make a wish Marlene decided on the hugh Acqua Signature Cannoli. Truth be told the best things in life are sweet.

Happy Birthday! The real gifts are the smiles, the laughs and the memories we have shared together over the years. Time flies when you are loved.
