Otis Grows by Kathryn Hast #Bookworm #GrowWithUs @LuJu_Books

Reading is a wonderful part of growing up and that is why we read out loud everyday. In the beautifully crafted new children’s book Otis Grows by Kathryn Hast, Miss Emma got to meet  young Otis, a red onion who is forced to question his origin and allegiances—given that his mom, a yellow chicken, is part of the Nuh-Uhs, and his dad, a blue flower, stems from the Yes-Chums. Struggling to find answers, Otis runs away, only to encounter more colors and cultures than he could ever imagine. Rooted in the challenges of family conflict, this book appeals to any child – or adult – who knows that growing up can be tough, but that, ultimately, love and wonder will win.  This is a wonderful book full of bright color and themes of growth and awakening. Read To Them Everyday.

Easter Sunday #Tradition #FamilyTime

Easter Sunday is a day of joy for many reasons. It is a day to rejoice and be thankful for the gift of life, love and family. At the head of the table this year was Nina, our next door neighbor who had a house fire about 6 weeks ago. She is a beautiful person and a wonderful friend and we were so happy she joined us while her home is being taken care of. Hopefully she will be back home soon and cooking for her loving family.

Easter is a time when all things are new again. A Celebration of Life. Erica is pouring some of the bubbly while I get the meal ready to enjoy. She knows that keeping the cook happy is important in this house. Sandra started my day with some Bubble Tea.

Our grandchildren could not be with us this year, the lovely Miss Emma was the only child this Easter. She had a lot of fun and loved entertaining us all day showing us how much she has learned in school. What a Easter Treat she was. Miss Emma filled the day with Bunny Kisses!

I thank God for every moment I get to spend with my family on holidays or any day. Love spending time, breaking bread, talking and resting with my family. It’s not what you have, but who you have in life that matters.  My mom has not been feeling good these few weeks, so a quiet Easter was heaven sent.

We enjoyed a baked ham, roast beef, baked potatoes and grilled asparagus. A simple menu that I always fall back on because it is so darn easy. My family all have a sweet tooth, so desserts are never ever lacking and always creative! You know you are with people who love you when you can serve a whole meal on paper plates.

When you stop and look around, you will find that life is pretty amazing. Happy Spring. Happy Easter and God Bless you and yours. Love, Merci & Liz

#Easter #Family #Church #Blessed

How wonderful it was proclaiming the gift of life that Easter brings with these delightful children.  Such a blessing to see the children dressed in their Easter best.  Easter was a sunny bright day, the sky a crystal blue, and the day warm as a day in June.

I think our group of children had something to do with the fine weather we were enjoying this Easter Sunday.

Adorable!  I know the Easter bunny would have had a hard time stealing attention from these very handsome kids. And who needs special Easter flowers when we had these two beautiful roses, with smiles that could melt hearts.

Easter!  A reminder that “with God all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26)

And from our tears, blessings will come…Easter is life for us all.
