PULQUERIA UNION CANTINA – Long Islands East End

Union Cantina is a modern rustic style Mexican restaurant nestled in what is known as Bowden Square in the heart of Southampton Village.  As newbies to Southampton, New York we were referred to dine at Union Cantina, a Mexican restaurant, and we like Mexican food.

Union Cantina menu offered a variety of Mexican dishes.  Now we usually order Fajitas or Burritos when we eat Mexican but as we were in Southampton we decided to go off script.

Let me tell you about Union Cantina ‘s salsa dip.  Not your ordinary salsa.   The Union Cantina’s salsa is made fresh on premise.  FRESH!  Not from a jar!  My eyes opened with sheer food delight when I scooped up the salsa with a tortilla chip – that was also made to order- and announced to my husband “this is the best salsa I have ever eaten”   I asked the waiter, “What kind of salsa is this, not from a jar!”  The waiter smiled and began to explain how the salsa is made on premise with the freshest ingredients.  To top the freshness Union Cantina even fries the green peppers to create the delicious salsa taste.  OMG!

All I wanted to eat was the mixture of guacamole and salsa dip which  I mixed together -pictured top of photo- but I knew that would so not be a good idea.

And I was glad for the dinner proved to be a culinary delight.

I decided to go with seafood and ordered the

PICANTE CAMARONES (SPICY SHRIMP)vera cruz chile sauce, picante queso, avocado crema, sweet corn & black bean salsa, pico de gallo.

My husband really came out of the box and ordered –

POLLO TIRADA (PULLED CHICKEN)rojo chile sauce, queso blanco, asadero & mexican cheddar cheeses, pico de gallo and avocado.

Union Cantina dining experience was much more than we expected.

Union Cantina’s “farm to table” cooking style is notably tasted, as they only use the freshest local ingredients that the east end has to offer.  As the taste of the salsa attested too!

Union Cantina has three bars and a  400 Rabbit Tequila Bar that features over 100 different tequilas to sample.  My kind of bar!

It was a happy meal at Union Cantina.  I had my pre-dinner margarita (BOGO) and my husband had his pre-dinner beer.  Everything at Pulqueria Union Cantina was ”MUY BIEN’

Southampton Inn- Long Islands East End

Looking for a quick getaway?

Let me suggest Southampton Inn, located in Southampton, NY.

My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a one night get-away to a lovely Tudor Hotel in Hamptons.

A day away was what we needed.   And Southampton Inn offered us the perfect place to do this.  Southampton Inn is located in Southampton, NY.

We had arrived early at Southampton Inn.   Our room was ready and waiting for us.  How pleased we were about this.  We just dropped off our overnight bag and immediately began exploring  Long Island’s East End.

The Southampton Inn’s room was bright and roomy and though the grounds were barren, as the garden slept through the winter, Southampton Inn offered the classic Hamptons feel.

The Hamptons is a well known  summer destination but now I know  the Hamptons can also be a winter destination, as well.  Southamption Inn  is within walking distance from a variety of restaurants, celebrated boutiques, unique galleries and cultural opportunities. World famous Cooper’s Beach is 1 mile away from Southampton Inn, and even the breezy February wind couldn’t make the experience at the beach less beachy.

Our stay at the Southampton Inn allowed us to enjoy the Hamptons in the quiet of the winter months, and to  make sure we plan another stay in the blossoms of the summer.

#3DayBlinds – #WindowTreatments #Shades #Blinds

After redoing my  kitchen, my new kitchen window was so impressive to me.  I loved the view the window offered, and I embraced the openness the window gave.  However, after three years of waking up to the rising sun rays,  I realized you can get too much of a good thing.

Yes, it was time!  I needed a blind on the kitchen window to block the rising sun.

As soon as I made up my mind to purchase blinds I received an email from 3 Day Blinds.  Not really knowing anything about 3 Day Blinds, I decided to see what 3 day Blinds had to offer, and what they offered interested me.   I  filled out their on-line form.  I set up a time and day to have a 3 Day Blinds professional design consultant come to my home.  3 Day Blinds provide a free consultation.  Wonderful!  I don’t have to go a store to shop for blinds, the design consultant will come to me. I can shop in the comfort of my own home, and I could see if the blind, or shade, would work in my kitchen.

A 3 Day Blinds professional design consultant, Debra Kaplan, contacted me, and a time and day was set for her to come  to show me what 3 Day Blinds had to offer.  When Ms. Kaplan came to my home I marveled at how she carried, with her,  the sample blinds she wanted to show me.

Ms. Kaplan,  and I, had a conversation regarding what I was looking for in a window blind.  I explained to her what I needed the blind for, and Debra made sure she showed me the perfect blind for my kitchen window.

Kitchen window without the blinds.

Kitchen window with blinds.

They were perfect!  Sun blocked, yet, still the shade let in light and also a perfect fit with my kitchen decor.

I did not go wrong, thank heavens, with 3 Day Blinds.

3 Day Blinds offers quality, customizable blinds in a variety of types and colors.

Thanks Debra!  I did love the treatment!

How Brady & Deucey Became Buster & Lucy To Get Princess Autumn Home #bookworm

In the new picture book How Brady & Deucey Became Buster & Lucy To Get Princess Autumn Home by J.A. Zaremski, readers follow beloved pets Brady the Boxer and Deucey the black cat on their perilous adventure through “Passage Mysterious” to help Princess Autumn return home. As told by Brady, this story gently touches on themes of love, the loss of loved ones, family blending, and – most primarily – the idea that our loved ones always come back to us, even if in different forms.

As big sister read the story of Brady & Deucey the little guy became very interested in what would happen to Princess Autumn. It took a while to finish because there were so many questions.

This is a loving book that serves as a wonderful comfort for families of all shapes, sizes, and origins who have dealt with challenging changes and loss. It’s not good-bye. It’s see you later.
