I am planning an oversea vacation this summer. Happiness is spending time with my daughter and her family, especially my three grandchildren.  My daughter took this photo and she tried her best to get the little guy to look at her and smile, this was the best one.

Saturday afternoon was just me and this little guy. For  lunch we shared  salad and pizza and he was hungry  and ate enough to make me happy.

Here is a wonderful if rare moment when the three of them are playing having fun  and getting along. Yes, they know how to entertain me.  Family time is the best time.

The weekend ended with a book club  Sunday hosted by Jen Calonita the author of VIP I’M With The Band. The girls all read and loved the book and had tons of questions and comments about the book and all the characters.  It was a delight sitting in and listening to the girls discussing the book with each other and Jen Calonita. Think tanks in progress. Thankful for my family and a very good weekend.

Holiday Caramel Corn Puffs

Ingredients

  • 2 7.5oz bags of Snyder of Berlin Original Puff’n Corn
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup Karo syrup (light)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

  1. Mix butter, brown sugar and Karo, boil 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  3. Pour over Snyder of Berlin Original Puff’n Corn and stir until well coated.
  4. Add nuts if you wish.
  5. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour; turn every 15 minutes.

Running Into Spring #Precor

It’s spring time and it’s time to run, inside and outside.  See how they run.

Running is not my favorite exercise, well, now that I think about it I really don’t have a favorite exercise.  I exercise because I know I have to, but if I had a least favorite exercise it would be running. Feet Down!

I find running super boring, especially when I run on a treadmill.  I mean, you can run, and run, on a treadmill, and never get anywhere.  I call it, still running.  However, now that the spring door has opened up, and my out door running days are over, I had to make the treadmill my running partner.

When I get to the gym the Precor waits for me.  I jump on and just  start my running into spring routine.  On my first run I ran a half a mile in 7 minutes.  Alright, I know that is not something to brag about but I know that my next run will be at least a mile in…Who knows! All I know is I am putting in my 10,000 steps and running into spring!
