I got a call from my sister telling me that Eddie, our childhood friend, had a new band called Marty G and the G Men, and the band would be playing at a bar located in Astoria, Queens.  Liz and Marianne were going to meet us at Kelly’s Bar and Grill.

I was happy to go because I had not seen Eddie for almost 3 years and I thought it would be a nice evening out with an old friend.   So we went to Kelly’s in Astoria and I also invited my good friends and neighbors Bobbi-Ann and Carmine to join us.

Kelly’s was a neighborhood bar with neighborhood people hanging out on a Friday evening, listening to the G-Men play some really great old songs.  What we didn’t know upon arriving was that the evening was going to be a kind of reunion.  For to our surprise we did not just get  to see Eddie but we also got to see Julie, Peggy, Kathy, and Cheetina…good ‘ole friends from the good ‘ole neighborhood we grow up in.

It was an evening of oldies with some very good buddies. .

The evening was  a definite blast from the past.  We all had an night of dancing to the G-Men playing some good oldies and enjoying our time together.

We danced, we drank, and we tried to talk but the band was so loud that was an impossibility.  

It was bad enough this old crew had to stand up the whole evening (all seats were taken)…but it did not stop us from enjoying each other and inhaling what little bit of time we were so blessed to have.

So till the next gig gals…we will meet again cara mias.
