This is the Marvel 12 hole Wolverine Plastic Tenor Ocarina. A pocket size, easy to play instrument and inexpensive way to introduce children to music. My daughter recognized the Ocarina from playing “The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time”. My grandchildren just had a fun time playing their own melodies. I originally gave it to Liam.

Then Caleb wanted to try it and would not stop bothering Liam until he handed it to him.

So Liam handed it over and Caleb gave it a try.

It was just a matter of time until Natalie wanted to give it a go. This went on all afternoon. 🙂

Movies, Pizza and Knitting

I spent Saturday at my daughters house. She and her husband took the older kids to the movies, they saw Guardians of the Galaxy in 3-D. They had a great afternoon together and I got to spend some time with the baby at home.

When dinner came around, I threw two Dr. Oetker Ristorante frozen pizzas in the oven and we shared and everyone was happy. The kids wanted to play games and watch some TV while my daughter and her husband went to a block party in town. We ended the night with ice cream sundaes.

In the morning Natalie said to me, “Grandma, do you know how to knit.” Wow! It has been a very long, long time since I knitted. Mostly, I made scarfs, yeah, just scarfs 🙂 After a few false starts, it finally came back to me, like riding a bike. You remember, somehow you remember. Guess what I’m making? Yep a scarf.

Butter Bean Salad

This is a perfect appetizer or side for any BBQ or picnic. My mom made butter bean salad sandwiches when we went to the beach, creamy goodness on fresh Italian bread. After playing in the water, my dad, sister and me ate it all up. Happy 🙂

Butter Bean Salad

1 (15.5 oz) can butter beans – drained and rinsed
1/8 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
small clove garlic – minced
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley

Place beans in a bowl. Whisk together all the remaining ingredients (except parsley). Pour over the beans and stir. Top with parsley and toss gently. Serve or cover , chill and marinate overnight.

You can double this recipe and use your favorite bean (chick peas, cannellini , black )

Pedicure

Toes, not such a pretty sight, especially when toe nails are such a mess. Honestly, I always wait until they get to this point before I go and have my pedicure. Yes, I know the toes on your feet should always look good for all those lovely summer shoes and sandals. But I tend to always put it off because I hate just sitting there to get them done…I am such a toe bruiser.

Toes need to have a good pedicure. So off I went to get that good pedicure.

Whether you do your own pedicure or pay some one, like I do, prettying up your feet is always a good idea.

Toes , unlike fingers, are not always in your face, so they can get neglected.

Did you know that people have been getting pedicures for over 4,000 years.

After the pedicurist clips, snips, files and polishes my toes look so good.

What a difference from when I walked in here.

Needless to say I am happy when my toes look their best.

I can now slip on some nice pair of sandals and let my feet show off their toes.

Ruum American Kid’s Wear

When my Grand kids sleep over it is always hard to get them dressed and ready for their mother to pick them up. I mean they love to run around in their PJ’s and act like their not in their own home. But when I took out the Ruum American Kid’s Wear sweater, and T-shirt, they had to put them on like right over their PJ’s. My Grand daughter did not even comb her hair.As for Chrisitan? Well, Chrisitan has very little hair right now. He looked so cool in his Ruum T’shirt Ruum’s sweater gave Sophie a big girl look. Sophie said, ” I want to wear this sweater to school.” A look of sophistication the Ruum sweater gave her. ..Perf-fit! Now this EPIC T-shirt from Ruum American Kid’s wear was so Christian. How did they know? Ruum American Kid’s Wear was a hit with my grand kids.
