My Happy Mothers’ Day Haul
I adore my daughter and am so happy when she buys me a outfit. This is what I got for Mothers’ Day this year.
AMI Super Skinny Lightweight Denim jeans. I love the way they fit, the denim has a touch of stretch and I really like the dark color. NYDJ jeans have the Lift & Tuck technology that I am crazy about. Looking good from behind too 🙂 Happy!
The green and navy blouse is from The Limited. Love the Chevron Ziz Zag pattern, very easy care and great all year round. This outfit is getting a lot of wear. I go to work, shop and meet friends for Sunday Brunch and always feel comfortable. Enjoying this wonderful Spring.
Christian is Four!
Yes, Christian is four years old! Where did the time go? Four years old! I have to keep repeating it cause I still cannot believe it.
Our little guy is 4.
Being 4 does not persuade Christian from his daily habits, like sucking his thumb and cruising in his bat cycle. Maybe when he is 5 he will give up thumb sucking. As for his bat cycle? Heaven knows.
Celebrating Christian ‘s birthday is a full day event. Since his birthday is in the month of May, we all get to celebrate his birthday in the Hamptons’. Spending a day in Hamptons’ is always a good thing, especially when the weather is cooperating. It was sunny and warm with minimal cloud coverage in NY.
This year ‘s celebration was extra special because my in-laws helped celebrate the birthday. Christian’s Great Aunt Carol and Great Uncle John, came all the way from California, and Great Uncle Jimmy, all the way from Manhattan. Now aren’t they Great! 
Oops! Let me not forget to mention Christian’s Great Aunt Marlene, who enjoyed the day basking in the Long Island sun. I wonder if Christian knows how GREAT they are? HA! 
If only Christian knew that he was not the only 4 year old at the party. Sometimes grown men act like 4 year olds or maybe 5 year olds.

What is a birthday without birthday presents? Except if I saw one more batman outfit and bat toy I was going to be bat crazy…I mean it was just a little to bat much.
But Christian did not mind his batman gifts and I am sure he would not have wanted any other item for his birthday, for Christmas and for just any time. Yes, Christian is a Batman enthusiast.
At least now that he is four he knows he is not batman but just a batman impersonator.
Happy Birthday little guy. I know you had a batlicious day!

Surprise Cherry Cookies
I received the Simply Sweet Colorcakes Cookbook. Wow!! So many recipes to choose from and I found the perfect one to make with my grandchildren. But first, I tested them myself 🙂
Surprise Cherry Cookies
1 17.5oz pkge sugar cookie mix, 24 whole red maraschino cherries with stem (drained and patted dry) I could not find stemmed so I used destemmed. , 1 1/2 C powdered sugar, 5 tsp. milk, 1/8 tsp almond extract. 1 Tbsp. rainbow candy sprinkles.
Preheat oven 375. Prepare cookie dough according to package directions.
Shape dough into 24 balls. Flatten each ball into a disc and wrap around each cherry, covering completely and sealing edges. Place balls into 2 lightly greased (12 cup) mini muffin pans. (I lined pans with mini paper cups ) Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned and just firm. Cool in pans for 5 minutes. transfer to wire racks and cool completely.
Whisk together powdered sugar, milk and almond extract until smooth, adding additional milk if necessary. Spoon glaze onto each cooled cookie, top with sprinkles. Quick, easy and delish!
