Worth Every Penny – Road To Recovery

Miss Penny fell out of bed the other morning and could not walk straight. She was banging into things and I knew something was wrong. She is usually as quiet  as a cat burglar.  She could not stand or walk and I was besides myself in panic.   I went right to the vet and he took blood tests and x-rays at once.  No temperature, and her weight was perfect. The x-rays were good, no tumors in kidneys, liver or stomach. Thank God.  The blood test showed a bad infection in the pancreas.  He kept Miss Penny all day on intravenous for liquids and antibiotics.  I picked her up around 5 pm. She could stand but was walking in circles.  She came home with me and we had another appointment in the morning 9:15. She did not make a sound all night.

I moved the coffee table and laid a tablecloth, a blanket and pillow for her.  I slept on the couch.  During the night, I saw her standing and drinking water. Thank You, Lord.   In the morning, she walked, still wobbling to the hallway by the stairs and waited for me. I picked her up and took her outside and she did her business. She then walked up the 4 stairs on the stoop and I carried her back upstairs into the house.  We got to the Vet at 9am and everyone there was happy to see how much better she was looking and doing.  She stayed the day hooked back up to intravenous  for liquids and antibiotics.  My sister drove me again to pick her up  at 5 PM.

Miss Penny has a new diet to follow (no more table food) and she has to take her medicine  for a couple of days.  The vet also put her on liquid vitamins, she is anemic too. Miss Penny will be 11 on March 24, 2014 🙂

When I got to the Vet to pick her up I heard a dog barking and the technician told me “That’s Penny”.  Music to my ears.  She licked my face all the way home.  She can stand but is still  very wobbly and tires very easily but I am believing  for Penny to get better day by day.  She jumped on the sofa all by herself 🙂   I emptied the capsules in a little water and feed her the antibiotic through the oral syringe. She ate the new food. Thank you for all the kind and gentle wishes.

To me, she is worth every Penny.

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair

Let me introduce you to Tripp Trapp High Chair.  This chair grows with your child.

That is right  from baby to adult.

 How cool is that?

Tripp Trapp High Chair was created in 1972 by designer Peter Opsvik.

When I heard about this grow with your child chair, I certainly had my doubts. I mean, a chair that grows with your child, and can actually fit right up  the kitchen/dining room table.

Really! Come on!

Then I was fortunate enough to get a Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair and I put it to the test.

First let me say that the chair was not that hard to put together.

I actually put it together all by myself.  I did not have to look for a screwdriver, or hammer, or anything.   Everything you need is sent to you nicely packed in the box. Now this was great for me.  I hate looking for tools. 11513 021As I started  I still had my doubts about this chair. But the more it came together the more I realized that this chair might actually work.11513 022

Here is the completed chair.  It did not take me long to realize I had the bottom part just a little off.  I quickly straightened it.  OK, I am not perfect.

Now it was complete.

Could not wait for Christian to come over.  He now has his own special chair. A chair that  will bring him closer to the table.  Christian does have a high chair so was not really sure if he would like this Tripp Trapp chair.

Viola! Here he sits.

Have to be honest.  At first he rejected the chair.  Then he gave it a try.  Once he sat in it he know that this chair was giving him support and also better access to the dining table.

After dinner,Christian sat with Grandpa.

He sat comfortably and he sat like a grown up….No more baby high chair.  Now we have Tripp Trapp High Chair.

A red one at that!

Keeping It Simple With Sears

searscard

Here we are again. Christmas is just weeks away.  It’s the same old story, lots to do and not enough time.  Maybe I am not utilizing my time correctly, I don’t know.  What I do know is I am loving the option of giving Sears gift cards this Christmas.  I really like the way the Holiday Gift Card looks too. You can hang it on the tree 🙂  I always like to give a little something along  with the card. Maybe a scarf and glove set – something small.  So yeah, I’ll be keeping it simple this Holiday Season.

Halloween The First

11513 00711513 008  I love Halloween with the kids  and this year we had an addition to our yearly Halloween tradition.

Baby Emma joined us and we all helped celebrate her first Halloween.

11513 001

Baby Emma, was our little Halloween pussy cat.   Christian was Batman, and Sophie,  a female Freddie Kruger.

I really thought Christian would not be Batman this year.  I mean, he  dresses up like Batman almost everyday. So I just hoped he would be something totally different… but then I realized why should I have thought that Halloween would be any different…Holy Cow, Grandma!

Christian and Sophie always run to the door to get their treats.  They try to beat each other, as if the person would run out of candy and one of them would be left with one less treat.

See Sophie’s Freddie hand.  Those claws became very dangerous.  Sophie kept swinging her hand around and of course she clipped Christian in the eye.  I shudder to think what would have happened if he was just a few inches closer to her Freddie hand.  I really did not like those hands.

Had to take a shot of these kids.  We could not figure out what the kid in black was suppose to be.  Of course he never said what he was, but a skunk I know he was not.

11513 004

Yes, we all love Halloween!  We love to dress and trick or treat, even more  this year with Baby Emma in full gear.
