Green Olive Tapenade

I honestly can make olive tapenade (recipe below) and a loaf of crusty bread my dinner.   This time I shared it with my family while waiting for our dinner.

Green Olive Tapenade – Food Network

1/2 pound pitted green olives
2 anchovy fillets, rinsed
1 small clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons capers
2 to 3 fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Thoroughly rinse the olives in cool water. Place all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. Process to combine, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl, until the mixture becomes a coarse paste, approximately 1 to 2 minutes total. Transfer to a bowl  and serve.
A tall, cold glass of beer don’t hurt either 🙂

Kiwi Crate – Colorful Inspiration

When my grandchildren sleep over it is always hard in the mornings to keep them occupied until their parents pick them up.  They tend to get homesick and always want to go home to mom and dad a little to early in the morning.

Then this one sleep over morning I opened a KIWI CRATE.

I gathered them around the kitchen table and when the Kiwi Crate box was opened they immediately began to show interest.

The crafts that Kiwi Crate came with were easy and fun.

The best part of Kiwi Crate was that all the materials to create the crafts are packed inside the Kiwi Crate.

The first item that caught my grandchildren’s attention were the 3-D looking eye glasses.

Kiwi Crate came with three fun projects .

All three  projects were simple to do and fun.

First project was called, My Stained Glass.

Making the stained glass was easy, even for Christian who is  3,

and  interesting for Sophie, who is 6 going on 9.

They made stained-glass, colored a spinning top, and toted a dyed tote bag.  The tote bag was how they carried their projects home.

Kiwi Crate accomplished for me what I could never accomplish every sleep over morning. Yes,  Kiwi Crate helped keep my  grandchildren busy enough to let their parents sleep a little longer on  Sunday morning.

And in the end their stained glass project ended up hanging in Mom and Dad’s kitchen window reflecting all the fun they had being creative @Grandma’s
