Did You Know

Excercise on the sneak

Can’t get to the gym, or maybe just not the gym membership type.

Well small changes in your daily life can help you burn calories and maintain your weight.

Here is how.

Do your own gardening and housecleaning. Digging, hauling, bending and lifting keep your body in motion.
While cleaning stretch and reach higher also scrub harder, this will double your calorie burn. When grocery shopping lift those cans of vegetables, a few times before putting them away.
Don’t let TV baby-sit the grandchildren – take a walk to the park. Push them on swings to kick it up a notch. Little Tikes 617973 2-in-1 Snug 'N Secure Swing If you are on a line that is not moving, start standing on one foot, then the other, do this a few more seconds each time.
Remember a body in motion stays in motion.

Clutter-Free Home

Sometime I get overwhelmed with all the stuff I have in my closets and basement. I’ve decided to try and clean up my world and here are some steps that can help me and you.
Five minutes a day spent decluttering an area is surprisingly effective. If something new does make it’s way in, make it a rule to give two things away in its’ place.
Choose a local charity to donate all the items that you decide you no longer need, but would hate to throw out. All the items that you resist giving away, think about putting them in a box – seal and date the box for six months or one year in the future. If at that time you haven’t needed to break the seal – give the entire box away.
A clean sink goes a long way in making your home feel more organized. I’ve decided that I will go to work each day always having a dish-free sink and I’ve found out that this clean feeling spills over to the rest of the house. So I make sure I make the bed after I do the dishes and then I can go to work.
Start in a corner of a room and work your way around. First gather all the things that don’t belong in the room – put in a laundry basket – to put away after you are finished. Then wipe down surfaces and touch up the floor with a broom or vacuum.

Have to be get real about the stuff I’ve been saving – if I don’t love it or need it – I’m giving it away. If you think something you have is worth money – find out – check on ebay.com or ask a local antique dealer.

Fall in love with a shredder – I shred all junk mail and paid bills on a daily basis – otherwise, the paper mass just takes over my world.
