Wine Has Its Points

My trip to California was a true wine experience.  For the 9 days we were there I must have drank about 2 bottles of wine a day.  It is a common phenomena for Californians to grow grapes behind their homes, you know vineyards.

Check out this house, a vineyard right out back.  Home grown wine!  Why not?
My brother-in-law took us to a couple of wineries.  I love wineries.  One  winery he took us too was located way up,up, up, with a view that was surreal.

We just relaxed and enjoyed the view, along with a  bottle of wine.  I think this is my idea  of heaven. Don’t think that this was just a wine drinking day.  I did learn something about wine.
I noticed that some wines had a number by the name of the wine.  What did this number mean?  It was explained to me that wines are judged and they get numbered with points.  The highest point a wine can get is 100 points, and it is very hard for a wine to get this number awarded to it.  I saw some that had 98 points.  That bottle was only 2 points away from getting 100, now that must be a good wine, I thought.  Of course I did not drink it, for the price was also very good.                                                                                               Did we buy any bottles of wine?  Yes, we did.  The most expensive bottle of wine I have every bought.  The bottle of wine cost $40.00. I convinced myself that I was on vacation and in California, what the heck.
What was the points of the wine I purchased?  Who knows, I just liked the taste of it.   California wines are never point less.
