I recently had to go buy a baby shower gift and decided to bring Christian with me. Me and Christian, or Christian and I. Whatever the proper English we both ventured out. I thought this would be an easy outing. So off I went to Buy Buy Baby… with Mr. Christian.
Here he is in the wagon of choice. I don’t know why he just would not look at me. Was he mad at me? What did I do to upset him? Christian, hello!
No response. I did not let his, ‘ I don’t want to know you’ look stop me. I pushed Mr. Chrisitian in the wagon and he was pretty quiet…UNTIL!
Until, he started to want all the toys he saw in the store. I kept telling him, “No, Christian, you cannot have it,” or “No, Christian, that is not your ball.”
In the end he won. I relented and just gave him the plastic duck that he cried for.
This duck satisfied him for awhile… a short while.
Once he realized that he could not eat this plastic duck, he began to get upset again. ” OK, OK,” I said, now what else could I give him to keep him quiet.
Then he said, “ball” and pointed to a Jack O’ Lantern. Oh, is this what you want. Correcting him was not important, I just wanted him to stop crying. So the Jack O’ Lantern was now his.
Off we went with Jack O in hand or should I say on head.
