Baltimore And The Aquarium

Every year for Christmas my parents give me and my husband a gift certificate for a night at the Marriott Hotel.  It is really a great gift. So what we do is have a little weekend getaway.  This year we decided to do a two night stint in Baltimore, Maryland.  I have been to Baltimore…heavens, it has to be more than 25 years since I was there.  Boy, have things changed in Baltimore,  but then what has not changed in 25 years.
My husband standing in front of the Hard Rock Cafe…no we did not visit HRC, just took a picture of it.  See I have been to the HRC  in New York and honestly, I have a been there done that attitude when it comes to the HRC.

What we were doing was getting our tickets to visit the Baltimore Harbor Aquarium.  If the tickets were not part of the package deal that we managed to purchase from the Marriott I would never have opted to do this aquarium tour.

We got to see some very interesting sea life, and let me say what a life it is…I loved the sea horses…so tiny so amazing…I wonder what tiny fishs get to ride on these guys. Can you guess what this is…never saw such beautiful colored  sea life.  I can see these little guys being used as pompoms by Elmo and his friends.  10 tentacles and not a octopus?

Rip-it, Rip-it… I wondered if this Frog  could have been a prince.  This frog was not giving out any information.

An unbelievable Sting Ray…all I kept thinking about was how Steve Irwin was stung by one.  I was foolishly hoping to see it come flying out of the water, no such luck.  Of course we were all out of harms way incase this ray decided to give us a show.

I called this fish a leopard fish, actually this fish was a shark and when they are little they have these spots and as they grow the spots dissappear.  I was impressed by his color and all he did was swim in a circle.  Well, they all swam in a circle, but the shark swam faster. As beautiful as the shark is I would never want to meet him in the waters…nice sharkie…. Bobbi Ann and Carmine in the jaws of  jaws…well not really, all the teeth in this jaw came from different sharks…still a pretty big dental bill….This was the best part of the aquarium the Dolphin show…I wondered how I could get a job working with Flipper…

Jumping dolphins are always entertaining.

Except when they jump high enough to cause a splash that comes down on the audience.  Not so much fun getting wet in the month of October.Dragons in the water…no, just boats.  This was not part of the aquarium, but certainly a harbor treat…again, water activities in October was not a go….standing on shore and watching them sail was fine by me.
