5 years ago our little Sophie was sent from heaven to be in our family. Or, to make our family a more complete circle. Sophie was my first grand child and you know what they say about the first. Yes, special.
Sophie’s birthday is celebrated at my son’s home. It is your usual family affair, eat, drinks, coffee and then the birthday cake. But this year Sophie decided that she would give us all a fashion show of sorts.
Princess fashion show given by our little Princess.
Belle of the ball…or the birthday. 
Sophie did you drop your wand or are you looking to kiss a frog? Oh, sorry the beast. I get my stories confused.
Which princess is this? Not sure but if had to guess,which is what I have to do, I would say Cinderella…looks like Cindy lost both her slippers.
A Princess with a hip hop stance…No Nanna this is my princess poise.
Sophie’s dad is a police officer, so you would think that wearing this costume was in honor of Daddy, but she is not dressed as a PO for Daddy…try for Lady Gaga. This was the surprise of the evening, Sophie went from the princess act to Lady GaGa act…with mike in hand she gets ready to do a GaGa number.
As I watched Sophie do her little show I realize that sometimes even adults wish, at times, to just dress up like someone else and play pretend, but children have a special way of doing this pretend thing, and turning it into so much fun.
We all watched this amazing 5 year old entertain us and bring us into her world of pretend.
So that his big sister does not hog the whole stage, Mr. Christian struts in as Batman…I cannot tell you how we all laughed. A Halloween custom that still gets use…Christian loves Batman…the bat mobile does not fall far from the tree.
Siblings always want to be apart of the older siblings attention, or in this case show…well, Sophie had stopped her little act, so I guess the stage was left open for Batman to make his appearance.
The problem with being Batman, at 18 months, is you cannot keep playing super hero and spend long hours driving around the town in the bat mobile when it is passed your bed time.
