Last Saturday was the end of Liams’ soccer games for the season. It was celebrated with a fair, which included sand bottle making booths, hot dog stands, ice cream and cotton candy. The best was the bouncy slides that all the kids love to climb up and slide down on.
I babysat on Friday night and slept over and in the morning, we headed over to the fair, so Liam and Natalie could enjoy themselves and see their friends.
I really wish I did not wear high heel sandels, the grass was wet from the rain the night before and I just kept on sinking in the grass.
But, the kids had a great time at the swing park and on the bouncy slide. Natalie was so happy with her sand flower creation and did not want to leave the swing park, but it was time to go watch Liams’ last soccer game for the season.
What a face! These kids are just so cute playing soccer, some of the boys are really naturals. Liam wants to be a goalie and he sure is good at it. The coaches are great, they make sure each player gets a goal either during the game or in between plays.
Each of the boys got a cool trophey and a new soccer ball to take home, to practice over the summer. These times go by too fast. I can remember when my daughter Vera was in a softball team. I got her the mitt, t-shirt and hat, I would bite my lip as I watched her put the mitt on the grass and pick flowers out in the field. She knew as much about softball as I did.
Makes me want to cry. So now, I make sure I root and enjoy every game I can. Win or lose, it’s always a good time. Just have to remember to wear sneakers.
