Long Island, NY is where I live. I have resided here for about 29.50 years. Yes, that is about right. I moved here when my daughter was 2 and half years old and she is now 31.
In all the years I lived on the island, I never had the desire, or the opportunity, to taste a Long Island Ice Tea. I did not even know that this drink had nothing to do with tea (I mean the title of the drink does have the word tea in it…how titles can fool you.)
Then we went to Dominican Republic, last July.
It was
on on this little island that I was introduced to the infamous ‘Long Island Ice Tea’.
DR, taught me what this drink is really made of. From the first sip it became my vacation drink of choice. I found it cool by the pool, and you only had to drink just one tall glass before you are ready to relax.
I do have to warn you, this is not a drink for beginners and make sure you have a full fed stomach…LOL!

1 ounce white tequila
1 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce sour mix
1 splash Coca-cola
