I bought a children cookbook from my daughter Veras’ school one year and found this wonderful Christmas Cookie recipe “Snowball Cookies”. Easy enough for a child to help make (with adult supervision). Here is a photo of Vera rolling the cooled, baked cookies in the powdered sugar. You can see she also liked a big snowball. This might happen after you make a few batches on the same day. 🙂 This easy recipe became a every Christmastime cookie we made together, shared and enjoy. She now makes these with her children. Hope you make these with the children in your life. Make a mess and keep, share and give a batch of happiness.
Heat oven to 325°F.
2 Cups finely chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 Cup sugar
1 Cup Butter (room temp)
1 tp vanilla
Red/Green crystals (optional)
Beat at low speed, scraping bowl occasionally, until well mixed.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Cool 5-10 minutes; roll in powdered sugar while still warm and again when cool.
