In a world that is always in a hurry, we make sure to slow down and celebrate the important things in life, like birthdays. The day before we went out New York had its’ first snow and it was a mess of a day for the whole city. We wondered if we would be able to meet the next day and happy to say the sun came out and melted most of the snow and we were able to meet upstairs in the Studio Bar at The Astorian for some good old birthday cheer. It was such a lovely night we walked to and from the place.
Yes there were all kinds of groovy crafted beer but we opted for some fancy cocktails. Culture Club, Hibiscus Mistress, Amelia Earhart and Classic Gin Heavy Martinez to toast my sister Marianne the Birthday Girl. We were all so hungry we decided to share a Mac N Cheese dish while we waited for our meal. Creamy , dreamy delicious so good that next time I will order one as my plate. We talked, laughed and caught up on each others life. Some good days some not so good days.
We ate through the music and lively conversation all around us. Catfish Fry, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Hot Roast Beef, Bacon Cheeseburgers, served with salad or sweet potatoes was the call of the night. Not too many doggy bags this night. Like I said we were hungry and it was all so good.
Never get tired of being with these women, I love them so. Hoping this year is the most amazing….Here’s to life, love and laughter in abundance. Happy Birthday!
