Family Friday

My 90 year old mom (a stroke survivor) has good days and not so good days. So I find it important to make use of the good days. I texted my daughter and told her today would be a good day to bring the great grandchildren to visit Nanna. I would get to see them too!! They dropped everything and came over.

While they were on route I asked what they’d like for dinner. I knew the answer would be Greek. When in Astoria you eat Greek food because we have the best. Chicken Souvlaki and Shrimp Souvlaki , Natalie wanted the Lemon Soup. Dinner thanks to SVL Souvlaki Bar. And of course soda for everyone, when at Grandmas’.

After dinner I take my mom outside to sit by the stoop for some fresh air. It was warm out and we stayed out for about 30 minutes. Yes that is a bottle of wine in the corner.

Long enough to for the friendly dogs next door to come and say hello. In these uncertain days, any time spent with family is worth every second. Be Well. Stay Well.
