Dear Daddy…It’s Been a Year

I can’t believe it’s been a year since you left the family. When you first left the days seemed to move in slow motion, then like a gust of wind that swooshes by, you closed a year.

Even though 365 days have passed, our hearts still long to have you with us. The tears, of your absence, now come upon us less, but less tears does not lessen the loss.

Daddy, It took a year to finally stop the vision of your final hours with us, and thoughts of what could we have done different to keep you with us. As the anniversary of your leaving falls upon us, we came to terms with that final farewell. It was not easy but losing a father never is. I do know it is comforting to us that you are now in a better place, a glorious place, a place were pain and sadness cease to exist.

Daddy, do give our love to Jesus and to all the family members that went before you, It is comforting to know that you are now with a heavenly family.

By the way, Daddy, you know that no matter how much time passes you will always be missed, and forever loved.

Sincerely,

Your family
