A Tale Of Two Brothers by Eveline Hasler/ Kathi Bhend

Once upon a time, long, longago, there lived two brothers. Their names were Morris and Boris. They looked like twins since they both had humps on their backs. From a distance it looked as though they’re carrying backpacks. But if you got to know them, you’d see that they were very different. Morris was helpful and kind to everyone he met. He took care of the cattle and fussed over the plants int he garden. Boris never had a kind word for anyone. He beat the cows and never gave them quite enough to eat. The plants on his land grew wild, nearly choked by weeds.

Then one day Morris was given a gift by the forest witch. His hump was removed. When Boris saw that Morris had this wonderful event happen to him, he too wanted to have his hump removed. However, Boris, who is not Morris, did not get what he wanted because Boris needed to change his ways.

“Bhend creates complex, wonderfully animistic landscapes, filled with both accurately rendered natural details, and hidden faces and forms woven into the underbrush .”- Kirkus Reviews.

GAUDI: Architect of Imagination by Susan B Katz

GAUDI: ARCHITECT OF IMAGINATION

Exploring the curves, cobblestone streets in his village, he watched the world with keen eyes. Gaudi noticed that everything in nature curved: from snails’ shells to mountaintops, from a bird’s breast to the shadows of tree branches. He began to appreciate the beauty in curved lines. With “nature as his teacher,” as he said, Antoni realized that bent did not mean broken.

Your dreams can change the world!

When Antoni Gaudi can’t go to school like the other kids, nature becomes his teachers. Later, when he trains to be an architect in Barcelona, his headmaster wonders, is he a “genius or fool’? Others think he is an artistic genius who is ahead of this time. What do you think?

Award-winning author Susan B. Katz captures the life of an artist ahead on his time. Linda Schwalbe’s dazzling art reflects Gaudi’s inventive and flamboyant style – from his colorful mosaics and unprecedented facades to his playful forms and bold buildings that make Barcelona shine and are collectively a UNESCO world World Heritage Site.

Happy Good Friday!

HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!

Happy Good Friday! For without this day in history we would not be celebrating the most important day in Christianity, Resurrection Sunday!

The first Good Friday, was more a ‘mourning Friday ‘ than a ‘Good Friday‘. It was the day of the gruesome, horrific death of Jesus Christ. Oh! How troubling this was to all of Christ’s followers. The death of Christ had to have left them feeling defeated, scared, isolated, and lost. Wondering where do they go from here? They had no idea how they would go on now that Jesus Christ, their Rabbi, and mentor, had been crucified by the authorities of their time, The Romans. Their reaction to this scourge was human, go into hiding for fear of the Roman soldiers coming after them. No, this Friday was not good. Far from it. Their leader Jesus was dead and buried. How frightened they must have been. Until! Until The third day – Resurrection Sunday! The day that changed the followers of Jesus Christ. The day that would change the whole world.

Now that was over 2,000 years ago. But now we know that the Friday Christ was crucified was GOOD. Good Friday brought forth a promise. Good Friday showed us life after death. Good Friday is not a day of mourning. it’s a Good Friday! Its was Good! Christ died for our sins and through his death and resurrection we get to share in God’s glorious promise

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25

Happy Resurrection Sunday!
