SCREAM Safe #Keychain #Alarm #Scream

Scream Safe  is a safety alarm on a keychain.

Scream safe  is a safe sound Personal Alarm Keychain.   This alarm is great for women, the elderly, children, night workers, for anyone who needs to feel safe when they are out or alone.

I purchased one for my parents.  My dad has difficulty walking, but that does not stop him from venturing out alone.  I always imagine him falling and not being able to get someones attention.  Now with Scream Safe he won’ t have to scream for help, it will do it for him.

When the device is activated, the device will emit a very loud alarm noise (125 db) some may have higher db’s.  The alarm noise will sound continuously until deactivated.  Scream Safe will emit the high sound for 30 minutes with new batteries.  That should be enough time to get someone’s attention!

My Gym Friends @YourMothersHouse #YMH

I am one of those people that has learned that I need to go to a gym to get the needed workout.  I had stopped believing the lie, I told myself, that I can do it on my own, a long time ago.  However, what I never imagined was that my daily gym attendance would give me not just a workout, but the pleasure of knowing some fabulous ladies.  These ladies have become my  ‘My Gym Friends’.   So, it was my pleasure to be asked to join these lovely ladies outside of the gym walls.

With no sweat dripping down our faces, and hair in place, we were unrecognizable at first glance.  Ha!

It was our boot camp instructor who got us ladies together at Your Mother’s House Kitchen and Bar.  I did wonder how the evening would go, since at the gym we really don’t have time to converse. We just have enough time to do bur-pees, push-ups, squats, etc. – sooo much fun…NOT!
However, after a few minutes and a drink, everyone relaxed and we began talking about our interests and what we do in our every day lives, besides going to the gym.  We did lots of  talking and lots of laughing.  I think for our first time out that was pretty good.

YMH  did offer a variety of drinks but this one specialty drink stood out for me.  The  Beer Margarita   was one of them.  I was thinking of ordering a Beer Margarita but then remembered I had to drive home.  Which was not a problem for the ladies, for this was just the beginning of the night for them they had made plans to UBER it to Manhattan.  The party was not ending at YMH for these gals. I was invited to go but sadly declined.

I now know that these girls are not just fun at the gym.  They are a great group of women who know how to have fun.  As they went out to party on down, I went home to lie down. Ha!  Old married lady that I am.   How the night ended?  I am not sure, but if I got the right impression, I would bet an extra set of  push-ups that they danced into the night.

Good Friends. Good Times. Good Memories #TastyTuesday

We are all busy with the daily duties of family and life, but we make the effort to meet whenever possible. This time we met up at The Blarney Stone on 8th Avenue in New York.  We have been friends for over 50 years growing up on the streets of New York East Side. We did not waste anytime after all the hugs and kisses. We ordered some drinks and some appetizers starting with Martinis,  Loaded Nachos, Blarney Wings and Stuffed Quesadillas.  Kathy played with the juke box all night and despite all the aches and pains we were talking about,  we all got up and danced and the groovy people there got up and joined us. Happiness is catchy.

Our server Shirley was a living doll. She joined in the fun and made us feel at home and took very good care of us. Happy to say we were not asked for our I.D.  Everyone there was having a good time on a Saturday night. We met an adorable couple Dan and Amber who were on a date night, married 15 years with 3 beautiful children. After dancing, they joined us in a tequila toast and went on to a Jazz Club engagement. New York City  is the place to be, it has everything to offer, something for everyone. It’s not just a city, it is a world.

All that drinking and dancing we got a little hungry and enjoyed some Pastrami Reuben  Sandwich with fries and Made Our Own Burger (anyway you want it topped with anything you like). We all shared a Caesar Salad.

Nothing compares to the joy of laughter shared with old friends. The truth is we find ourselves pretty entertaining!!  Something about childhood friends that you just can’t replace.

Here’s to good friends, who help  remind us of the important things, a smile, hope and courage.  Here’s to Friendship.

Hickory Doc’s Tales by Linda Harkey #Bookworm

Books aren’t just words, they are filled with places and people to meet. You even get to meet some groovy dogs in books.

“Hickory Doc’s Tales” follows the experiences of a hunting dog named Chicoree’s Hickory Doc. Oftentimes referred to as “Doc,” the oldest and wisest of five dogs residing at “The Lazy Dog Hacienda Kennels” in Oklahoma. Doc chronicles his adventures and life in the field and at the kennel, as well as his interactions with humans and other animals.  Geared toward elementary school readers, “Hickory Doc’s Tales” will help children transition into chapter books and more adventurous literature.

The Harkey family has lived with various breeds of hunting dogs for over 30 years.  In that time, Linda Harkey has developed four deep passions:  a love of German Short Haired Pointers, Labrador Retrievers, nature, and education.  Harkey combines her personal knowledge of hunting dogs with her desire to encourage children to read in “Hickory Doc’s Tales, The Pack:  First Generation.”
