The Sissi Collection by Ernest Marischka #SissiTrilogy

The Sissi Collection is a portrayal of Princess Elisabeth (Sissi) of Austria.  This classic collection is a 5 disc set which includes the films – Sissi (1955), Sissi: The Young Empress (1956), Sissi: The Fateful Years of An Empress (1957), Victoria in Dover (1954)

Sissi, the story of a Bavarian girl Elisabeth (Romy Schneider), who’s known as “Sissi.”   Sissi is a naive teenager raised by Duke Max (Gustav Knuth) and Duchess Ludovika (Magda Schneider).   Sissi’s sister, Nene (Uta Franz),  will be marrying Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph (Karlheinz Böhm).   As they travel to Sissi’s sister’s wedding the emperor and Sissi accidentally meet.  And the two fall in love with each other.  The marriage is canceled and the two decide to wed, no matter what the consequence, such as Franz Joseph’s infuriated mother.

Love the old world Majesty, the glitter, and splendor that comes with the story of “Sissi” the Empress of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Queen consort of Croatia and Bohemia.

Scotland and the Highland Cow #HIGHLANDCOW #CATTLE #FOLD

You may already know about Highland Cattle.  However, the first time I saw a  Scottish Highland Cow I was so delighted.  How unusual these cows looked.  At least, unusual for me.  I saw this Scottish Cow on a program and thought this cannot be a cow, it had to be some kind of hairy dog.  Ha!   This cow had bangs and hair that covered most of it’s body.  A hairy cow!  How cute!    How adorable!  A cow that was a cute as a dog. This cattle was cuter, to me, than a sheepdog but so much bigger.

The Highland Cattle is one of the oldest registered breed in the world.  I just didn’t understand how I had never see one…ever!  Then to my surprise my daughter tells me she is going to take a trip to Scotland.  What!  How crazy!  I immediately told her she has to go see these hairy cows.  And she did.

I am now thinking of doing a tour of Scotland, just to see for myself, these hairy adorable looking cows.
