Apple cider vinegar is something we all have in our cupboards or pantry.  We use apple cider vinegar for cooking, cleaning, laundry and many other household uses.   But what I didn’t know was apple cider vinegar has health benefits?  Health benefits that are not based on cooking.

I discovered the apple cider vinegar health benefits while having a simple conversation with a stranger.  This stranger was explaining to me how she takes two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar every day for the health benefits it gave her.

So needless to say after my conversation I looked up the health benefits of  apple cider vinegar.  I was surprised that apple cider Vinegar can kill bacteria, lower blood sugar, helps in losing weight, and lowers cholesterol and reduces risk of heart disease. May also protect against the effects if cancer.  Pretty good stuff, Yes?

However, the apple cider vinegar that one must use has to be organic, unfiltered, with the  “mother.”  Some recommend Bragg’s which is the most popular one.  However, I purchased Nature’s Balance from Stop n’ Shop.

Apple cider vinegar also has various other non-health related uses like hair conditioning, skin care, dental care, pet use and as a cleaning agent (to name a few).

ACV is highly useful for people who like to keep things as natural and chemical-free as possible.  At the end of the day, apple cider vinegar appears to be very healthy  So let me get to my point.  I now take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar daily.  I spoon it in a cup of water, easier to handle the taste.  I do this to help me with my heartburn.  To my surprise I believe the acv has truly helped.  How do I know?    I know because when I forget to take the ACV for more than two days my heartburn returns.  Interesting!

If helping my heartburn is the only health benefit I get from  apple cider vinegar then I hit the jack pot.
