#ThrowBackThursday #222

One thing about good friends is no matter what you do, or where you go, when you gather, you always  have a good time.

As a group of six couples we loved to go away for a one night stay in a Marriott Hotel .

Dinner time was always a chatty time.  We talked more than we ate.

It’s been 12 years since we took this trip.  This trip was a 222!  🙂 So glad we had this time together.

Did You Know, Home

#CorkItUp #Cork #Wine #Filler #GlassBowl #GlassPitcher

Now I am not a creative individual and really don’t like to spend time being creative – 🙂 – so when I decide to bring change I  immediately, almost always,  take the easy way to create change.  I know that using cork to create is nothing new, and  I love some of the creative things you can make with corks, but, as I mentioned, the cork creations  on Pinterest were too much work for me.

I wondered, what could I do with all the corks that my wine bottle opener pulled off?  Ah! The answer was sitting on my kitchen counter, glass pitcher.  And so it began.  Every time I opened a bottle of wine, I throw the cork into the pitcher.

Pop, pop, pop, one by one the corks filled the pitcher.

With the first throw of a cork the pitcher began it’s transformation.  Didn’t take too long to get the pitcher filled with cork.  And it didn’t take long for the corked pitcher to get noticed by my friends.  Of course, I didn’t stop with just a corked pitcher.

A glass fruit bowl was my next cork target.

And I noticed that my friends have caught on to this cork filler idea.

I Love it!

Dining

#Weekenddining #Luigi’s Restaurant New Hyde Park #Delicious

Weekends are a time to go out and enjoy a meal that you would not or could not make, and serve at home.  So if you are thinking of going out to dinner, this weekend, and live in Nassau County, New York, let me suggest Luigi’s Restaurant in New Hyde Park.

Seafood Combo imported spaghetti /shrimp /scallops /

manila clams / calamari / mussels /light tomato basil sauce

If your like my husband you will enjoy this seafood combo with imported spaghetti.  Not a dish for me.  Do not enjoy eating mussels, calamari, and clams.  Yes, he is wringing his hands!  He just can’t wait to dig in.Sometimes you may want to order the special of the day.  I like specials.  This special was superbly delish.  Seabass over pesto risotto with tiny glazed onions and the piece de resistance a perfect tasting shrimp on top.

Oh, let me not forget my dessert, the other simple pleasure of my weekends.  A vodka martini, shaking, not stirred, with three olives…love the weekends.
