Great news! PBS KIDS and Whole Foods Market are teaming up again to launch new holiday items for their line of responsibly-sourced toys. Having fun with the Honeybee Stacker all day long.

Not only are these toys environmentally friendly, but they also give back – to the PBS mission of education for all children. 100% of profits for the supplier, PBS, go back to their non-profit work. All products give 1% to Whole Kids Foundation, which helps give parents, teachers and children more tools and opportunities to eat well.

PBS KIDS’ responsibly-sourced PlanToys and Aurora Plush animals will be available exclusively at Whole Foods Market. We have a farmer in the house playing with his Field to Farm Stand Play Set. I am busy, Grandma.

Birthday Celebration at #KababCafe

Let me just say that this place is a hole in the wall, so unassuming you might well have passed it by a million times. We are so happy that my sister Marianne chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday because in truth it was a treat for all of us.

Thanks to the magic man Chef Ali, a darling man with beautiful thoughts and words for everyone who enters the magic world of Kabab Cafe.

No menus, no prices just Ali telling us the Egyptian delights he will prepare for us this day. We started with a warm spiced wine filled with spices and fruit, which was so welcomed being it had to be one of the windiest and coldest day yet this season.

We shared a platter of dips with warm pita bread, which never got a chance for a photo, beet salad, cauliflower salad, lamb chops. chicken and this to die for sea bass. Everything was served with a delightful medley of vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, eggplant, onions and peppers. Delicious home cooked meal with laughter and great conversation. Ali makes it a point to talk to and get to know all the guests in his restaurant. Very endearing.

We felt at home, we made ourselves at home, no rush, no fuss just a wonderful afternoon breaking bread and drinking wine together celebrating another blessed birthday.

Truth is age is merely the number of years the world has been enjoying your company. Wishing you Love, Laughter and a very Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING “Give Us This Day…”

As I grow older I find the days of the week just tend to blend right into each other. I always have to stop and think of what day of the week it is. And when I have to remember a past event I seem to have a hard time remembering the day it actually occurred, was it on a Monday or Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday…then I say,” Whatever, I cannot remember the day.” In time I have realized that it’s not the day of the week that is important but what occurred that day that is important.

So, today, Thursday, is really just another day but what makes this Thursday really an important day is what is happening on this day, Thanksgiving!

As I take the time to reflect on Thanksgiving Day, my heart reminds me that everyday is thanksgiving and everyday is filled with blessings. I just need to open my heart to the blessings and remember that the greatest blessing is family. Family should never be taken for granted and never blend into each other without a thought, like the days of the week. Oh, I know how family can make your LIFE boat wabble – mine sure do, they make me sea sick at times- but family can also help hold the LIFE boat oars and row you safely thru the rough shores of life.

Family is really an extension of YOU and a blessing from our Creator.

So today, Thanksgiving Day, I will stop to really give thanks that I have each day of the week with my family

as we gather to “Give us this day…”
