Tough Cookie is a new take on the Holiday gingerbread story.  Tough Cookie written by Kate Louise is a story of a gingerbread man who was baked, accidentally, without the ginger.

Without ginger this cookie feels like he is not really a gingerbread man.  He can’t be sold!  So he lives in the back of the bakery store and causes all kinds of trouble, eating the baker’s decorating candy, throws sprinkles across the counter, and squirts frosting on the walls..a real Tough Cookie!

 

 

226656_2The baker had to ask the gingerbread man to leave the store.   The gingerbread man realized he had to change his ways if he wanted to stay. So the baker begins to  teach him  that his ingredients don’t make him who he is,  that it’s his character that defines him.  After that realization the gingerbread man begins to help the baker decorate the other gingerbread men and women.   And he is the one who always makes sure that the most important ingredient, ginger,  is never forgotten.

Tough Cookie is a great story for children 3-6.

It’s a story about how we all need to be kind to others and how we find happiness by helping others
