That’s Amore By Brennan’s

I love belting out a song when it comes to mind. It just happens. I hear a word then that word reminds me of song. BOOM! I start to sing the song with the word that triggered the song. My grand daughter finds this habit truly annoying. She always give me a look and says, “Stop singing.”

This one particular night I saw this beautiful moon in the night sky and remembered the song That’s Amore by Dean Martin. When the moon hits your eye, I began to sing. Only this time my grand kids loved the song I was singing and began to sing with me. What fun we had that night. Even though we did not know the lyrics.
Thank heavens for YouTube.

Thanks Dino! Your still a favorite in this house.

Happy New Year!

When I was younger a new year was always welcomed.  A new year was a time to wipe the slate clean. A time to breathe in a new sense of a new me.  A time to feel that the past is the past and now I can look into the future for everything is going to start new.

However,  as I grew older I realized  that a new year is not the beginning of a clean slate or a new me, and the past is not left in the past.

See I found out that a new year cannot be new unless we bring the past.

That past is a sneaky fellow, it attaches to us as we move into the  new year.  We cannot help but think of the past.  It’s thinking of the past events that make us smile, cry, angry, sad, happy, joyful, miserable, and  humble.  It’s the past that defines the person we think we are.  The past is a teacher, if nothing else.  We need to  take the time to reflect on our past, for so much happened in the past.

It is the past that provides us with knowledge and wisdom to move forward into the new year.  Should we forget the past we can never grow in the future.

So this New Year do remember that your past will most definitely move in to the new year  with you.  Don’t just ignore the past, embrace it, reflect on it, and don’t  promise more than you can handle.

I am  thankful that 2015 is here and what ever it brings I will deal with it when it arrives.  For I can guarantee you, one day, really soon, 2015 will become the past.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
