Casual Fridays In My Coldwater Creek Jeans

I tried on a pair of the Coldwater Creek Jacquard Slim Leg Jean at The Fashion Forward Event 2013. It was love at first try!! I could not believe how comfortable they were. So soft to the touch. The sizes and cut are generous, I’m wearing the size 8. They are available in regular or petite.

Then I finally got a pair of my own and I love to wear them to work on Friday.  You see, at my job Fridays are casual and most everyone wears jeans that day.  You could easily dress these jeans up or down. Modern and timeless. They look good with any blouse and with any style shoe. Love a red flat!!

After my morning cup of coffee, I’m all smiles the rest of the day. Honest 🙂

Sausage with Peppers, Onions and Potato

This is what I always bring to a Pot Luck Affair.  It’s so easy and a real crowd pleaser.

Recipe

1 lb Italian Sausage – links cut into thirds
1 lb Onions – sliced
1 lb Peppers (what ever color you like) – sliced
1 lb potato – peeled, cut same size as sausage – (in a pinch I have used 2 cans of whole potato- drained & rinsed)
2-3 TB Olive Oil
1/2 C Cold water
salt/pepper to taste
Hot pepper flakes – optional

Pre-heat Oven: 400
Bake 1 hour

Place all of the above in a roasting pan. Stir to make sure everything is coated with the olive oil (I use my hands). Cover with foil for first 30 minutes of baking – uncovered for the last 30 minutes.

This recipe can be doubled.

P.S. I have also replaced the potato with a can of white beans – rinsed and drained

I remember this day like it was yesterday. But it was 50 years ago today.  We were in school, the 6th grade,  a messenger came and handed  the teacher a note that said  President Kennedy has been shot and killed  and she started to cry.  She told us and we all started to cry, looking at each other, crying. Not really understanding what happened. This was probably the first shock of my life.  When we went home, we watched T.V. in silence. I remember my parents crying and lots of confused thoughts.  I loved making scrape books. Here are the photos I took out of the magazines and paper at that time.
