Shrimp Cocktail At The Seafood Shack Tobay Beach

I can’t believe that Labor Day is this weekend. I just love summer and everything about it.  I especially love to eat outdoors and by the water.

So when my friend called and asked if I’d like to go for lunch at The Seafood Shack, I jumped at the chance.  I’ll be ready when you get here 🙂

I looked at the menu out of habit because I already knew what I wanted!!  Shrimp Cocktail & Little Neck Clams. Oh, yeah!!

Shrimp Cocktail – Food Network

  • 1 lemon, juiced, plus lemon wedges for garnish
  • 16 jumbo shrimp, cooked and cleaned
  • Salt
  • 1 (28-ounce) can chunky style crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire, eyeball it
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce, eyeball it
  • 2 ribs celery, finely chopped
  • 4 shots ice cold vodka, optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Squeeze half of the lemon over the shrimp and sprinkle them with a little salt. Mix together the remaining lemon juice, tomatoes, horseradish, Worcestershire, hot sauce, celery, vodka and pepper in a small pitcher. When ready to serve, pour the sauce into martini glasses. Hook the shrimp, 4 per glass, around edges. Make garnish wedges of lemons to hook on the edges of the glasses and serve.

TIP: Chill some martini glasses in your freezer the morning of your dinner club party to serve these cocktails.

My girlfriend let me have some of her waffle fries – would you look at that Lobster Roll . Wow!!  I hope I get to go back to the Seafood Shack a few more times before it closes in October for the winter.  Keeping my fingers crossed for a Indian Summer 🙂

Christening Day For Caleb and Chicken Dance At The End

Sunday was my grandson Caleb Christening Day.  The ceremony was at 2:30 in the afternoon.  There were two other babies being christened that day. Here is my daughter and her husband and children with the Godparents and their children. I love this photo! Outside the church. The weather kept up and it did not rain like they said it would. Thank God.   I am with Caleb and Marlene (Merci sister) with her new granddaughter Emma. Here is Merci dancing with Sophia. Like Grandma, like granddaughter. They danced the whole party! The kids had a blast, they played musical chairs and did the chicken dance and ran around the place just having  fun.    This is Merci and her family, ever growing!  Family, friends enjoying the good times together. God Bless Us All.

Lips That Stick

0804 016 When my granddaughter sleeps over I have to hide all my lipsticks.  For she always manages to grab one and proceed to put it on like it is something every 6 year old needs to do.

I am always telling her that her lips do not need any lipstick, since they are already naturally  rosy red.  Of course, this goes in one little ear and out right out the other little ear.

0804 017 A morning battle is not what I sign up for, I did that scene with my daughter.  So with my grand daughter I allow her to get lipsticked up, but , I make sure that it is a lipstick that I don’t use.   She does have a favorite lipstick and it happens to be a sample  lipstick, from Avon.  I always  give  her all my sample lipsticks, so she thinks that they are special for her.

She kills me!   When she puts lipstick on Sophie manages to get it right on her lips, a lot better than me I need a lip liner to get it straight.

0804 018I had a hard time this particular morning.  See she could not find her special lipstick.  I had no idea what happened to that tiny lipstick.  But it did not dampen Sophie’s start to the day.  For she find another one of my lipsticks and made sure that it ended up on her lips.  So I guess Sophie does not really have one special lipstick.

It appears that all of my lipsticks are her special ones.
