There is Merci next to Elvis – check out his trunks, he is wearing Coolibar!!  We heard some stories that sun block may be dangerous,so  this can be another  way to protect you and your family from the damage of too much sun.  The fabric SUNTECT  is light and so comfortable and it actually cools your skin!  We just love the packable wide brim hat, you can wear it on the go or at the beach . There are lots of great colors to pick from too.

G.H. Cretors

Homepage Slide 1 NEW

If anybody knows me they know that I am a popcorn lover!  So, being that I am a  popcorn lover , I make sure that the popcorn I eat is worth the calories.  So believe me when I say, “Eating G.H. Cretors popcorn is worth every calorie.”

G.H. Cretors use all Natural Ingredients.

G.H. Cretors use real Brown Rice Syrup to make a scrumptious caramel popcorn.

G.H. Cretors use Non-GMO Ingredients.  Not sure what GMO is?  I had no idea myself.   GMO is a “genetically modified organism”, now doesn’t that just sound like it is something you don’t want to eat.

G.H. Cretors  are Gluten Free and Kosher.

For 5 generations G.H. Cretors have been perfecting the art of popcorn.

When you start popping this corn into your mouth, I guarantee that you will keep on popping.

Don’t believe me? Go get yourself a bag and taste for yourself and when you do, don’t say I did not give you fair poppin

American Flag Cake

groovinmomflagcake

I have been making the Amercan Flag Cake since my daughter Vera was a little girl.  I let her decorate the cake by herself  and she  was always a hit when she brought the cake to a holiday BBQ.  It’s easy, fun , delish and a really good way to get kids in the kitchen hands on.  Hope you try it!

American Flag Cake

1 pkg cake mix – any flavor
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
1-2 pint strawberries
1 1/2 cup blueberries

Preheat oven to 350 °F.

Grease and flour a 13×9-inch pan
Prepare, bake and cool cake according to package directions.
Frost the sides and top with whipped topping.
Arrange strawberries, blueberries on cake  to create a ‘stars & stripes’ pattern.
Use the blueberries to create a blue background in the upper left hand corner.
Once you have finished decorating the cake, place in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place cooled cake on top and decorate, carry and serve.  Put any left over fruit around the cake.

Have a wonderful summer !

Mothers and The Day

I do hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day, as we did.

Actually, Mother’s day is a working day for me.  When most of the mother’s I know are going out to dinner, I am making dinner.  I have no problem with this.  I do it to honor my mother.mothers day 2

Meet my mom (she is the one holding the plate)  and her very close friend, Tessie.  Tessie is Liz’s mom.  Both our moms came together to the good old U S A,which was then more commonly called,  AMERICA’.  They made the long and lonely journey across the ocean blue to make a new life for their family.  Carrying with them two tiny babies,  Liz and me, or is it I.   🙂

mother day1Now, here you see my daughter, the the dark stripped shirt, and daughter -in-law, in the red stripped shirt, (they claim that they did not plan to wear the strip shirts together. A coincidence?)  and my niece, Dana.  My niece just recently became a first time mother, so she got to celebrate Mother’s Day in a new mother way.

emma

Here is our little new addition.  Baby, Emma!  Only 2 weeks old and giving her mom a run for her motherhood.  No, my daughter does not have children, my son does, but I do pray that one day we will be blessed with another little person in our family.  Did you read this ERICA!

 mother's day 4

My first grand daughter just had to help feed baby, Emma.

Sophie will now have  to share the spot light with Emma.

mother's day

Mother’s Day always begins with lots of chatter and ends with a lot of chatter. We tend never to get tired of talking, eating, and drinking.

mothers day 004Yes, we even dress up the wine for the day.

Of course some of us have to work the next day so we do keep the drinking to a minimum…and Liz had to drive, UGH!

Now that Mother’s Day 2013 is behind us, we need to remember how blessed  we really are.

I mean, we have three generations of family to celebrate holidays with.

How we have multiplied from one generation of moms.
