Strawberry Sunday

Yesterday the theme was strawberries.  Seemed everywhere I looked there was a photo or a recipe or a song playing.  I did’nt have anything planned and so I asked my daughter if she’d like to come over for lunch.  Just happened that my son in law was at a fantasy football party and so she agreed.  My mom was so surprized when she found a full house after Sunday Mass. Love when that happens.

Vera told me not to make a fuss, we can call out  for Chinese food.  So, I ran to the market and got some things to pick on and dessert.  I called my sister Marianne and my niece Sandra to join us.  My sister came over but Sandra was working.   After we finished eating I took the kids and Miss Penny out  on the stoop for a while.  It was pretty hot out there, but the kids get antsy in the house. The kids love Miss Penny and she likes them, though they can drive her pretty crazy.  So I really have to watch her when they are around.   Next thing (most important)  in order is dessert!!!    Ice cream, pound cake and strawberries, something I know the kids would help make.  So while the ice cream was softening, my little chefs handed  me strawberries to cut up, and they thought I did’nt see them pop a few in their mouth.

Natalie and Liam got a kick when I told them that their mom used to help me make this  when she was a little girl.  This is a long time favorite dessert around here. So easy and so good. a real crowd pleaser 🙂

Gerber Training Pants

Oh, Gerber baby!

Gerber it’s not only  baby food…this I recently found out.  When I hear the name Gerber I  immediately think of baby food…see when my kids were little (toddlers), I fed them Gerber baby food…my favorite was banana (Yes, my favorite)…one for you, and then one for me…that was the game we played.

I was so thrilled to find that Gerber makes more than baby food now.

Gerber has a line of children’s wear http://www.gerberchildrenswear.com/.

OK, I might be behind the times…

I started checking out the training pants from Gerber for my grandson Christian.  Christian is a little over two and is getting ready to say bye, bye  diaper and hello underwear…Oh, he is going to be such a big boy now …

HATE THAT!

Now that Christian is in the training stage, what better training pants to get then Gerber Training pants.

Gerber Training pants are:

  • Soft cotton inside and outside with a built-in, absorbent interlining for extra protection throughout the day
  • A soft covered elastic waistband for increased comfort
  • Durable, washable and reusable for multiple uses
  • 100% cotton panels with an absorbent interlining
  • Machine washable
Gerber training pants are really soft and I wanted soft for his little tush…nothing harsh for my grandson.  Soft and comfortable for wearing all day and night.

Even though no more diapers makes Christian a big boy…Gerber Training pants still give him that little boy look…

CVS Beauty Club Getting Gorgeous Event

Saturday , Groovin Moms attended the CVS Beauty Club Getting Gorgeous Event at the Warwick Hotel in Manhattan.  We were there to help out and work the swag bag table.  So much energy and so many new and old friends, and all those bags which were in the room right behind us!This is the last table visited by 600 mommy and daddy bloggers, who enjoyed the event.  It was pretty non stop action all afternoon.  We did manage to get some Jenny’s Cuisine popcorn for Merci (yummy white cheddar) and I have a sweet tooth, so I enjoyed a couple of Hersheys’s Simple Pleasures (milk chocolate with chocolate creme), while we handed out  the loot.

P.S. Yes,  Merci wore her sunglasses all afternoon 🙂

No Wedding Bell Blues

Are they not a cute couple?  All smiles and full of glee.. all wedding night long.

This couple debunk the old saying, a blind date is not a good date, for 8 year after their blind date they decided to tie the knot on  July 20th, 2012.

The whole family was invited and we partied hardy.

My daughter…She is so much taller than me (thank God) …I really liked my daughter’s dress – it was a little different from her usual taste…Erica your taste is getting better. All our special men…Anthony, Damian, Owen and Billy…they suited up and came to wish Scott the best on his wedding day…Anthony, my daughter’s boyfriend….no nothing yet!All the special gals…when we try to get a picture together, we just cannot be serious.  We tried to kick up our heels and hoped that we could give the Rockette’s a run for their money.  REALLY! Think you are seeing double?  No, you are not seeing double…Scott and Anthony are twins…not identical twins, fraternal twins…so their mother says…I still think the doctor made a mistake.  When these guys were little I could never tell them apart…my daughter always did.  Ma, she would say, why can’t you tell the difference I can…guess my eyes were not  good even back then.  I was so happy when Anthony grew a beard, now I have no problem telling them apart.Bobbi-Ann mother of the groom.  My very good friend.  Carmine and Bobbi-Ann proud parents of the groom…Carmine looks so dapper in his tuxedo…really liked the matching vest…Being at a wedding is something to cherish.  It is a happy time were we  can enjoy each others company in a celebratory mood…Sharing this time with special people and raising our glasses to the bride and groom.

We can also be very silly after a few glasses being raised to the bride and groom… OK, guys sit up straight and smile!

Yes, no wedding bell blues here…Scott took his wedding vows and Alicia heard her wedding bells.  However, the event of the night was this special angel… Angel Owen…who  blessed our night away…
