Bryant Park And Saying Goodbye to Christmas

I love Christmas in New York City.  I love Bryant Park at Christmas time.

Really, I love it much more than  Rockerfeller Center. Yes, much more than.

After taking the grand kids to see Santa, we always head down to Bryant Park.

At Bryant Park we get to see a lot more than just a Christmas tree, we get to watch ice skaters skate around and around, and the grand kids get to ride on a carousel.

What a treat .  A carousel in Manhattan…On a Carousel (remember the song)
It was at this time that I told my husband that I wanted to return to Byrant Park before all the vendors close at the end of the Christmas season.
To my surprise he agreed, and of course I dragged my two friends along, Bobbiann and Carmine. Here Carmine is enjoying a laugh with my husband.
Not quite sure what they were laughing about.  Maybe they were laughing because they could not believe they willingly allowed themselves to be dragged into New York City just to walk around a park.
The park has so many little shops, you can stroll into these shops while you are strolling in the park…what a great idea…shop and stroll. The Fountain of Trevi, NO!  The fountain in Bryant Park.
We were not in the park more than 5 minutes when Bobbie Ann purchased some chocolate covered nuts from one of the vendors…that was the best buy of the evening. Here we are at the Celsius, in Bryant Park.
Ok, I had to have a drink at the Celsius in Bryant park…However, if I had known what the cost of these drinks would be,  I certainly would never have suggested having drinks there.
Would you believe 4 drinks at the Celsius cost $60.00…OUCH! Or should I say, CHILLING
Now that is pretty over the top for my pocketbook.  But now I can say, “Been there, done that and never again.” From Bryant park we headed on down to Nino’s Positano,  a restaurant located on 2nd avenue and 47th street.  My husband sat in the front seat of the taxi and chatted away with the driver.  He can be a real chatter box sometimes.  So off we
went to Ninos, we each had a voucher from Travelzoo.com.
The cost of the meal?  $59.00, a couple.  Included in this price, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 dessert, and a bottles of wine, this for each couple.  Nino’s Positano food was a fine place to eat and the food and service, STUPENDO!
We all had to laugh when we realized that the meal at Nino’s Positano cost us just as much as the drinks at the Celsius in Bryant Park…

Goodbye Christmas, ’til we meet again!
