It’s that Time of Year! #Christmas #SantaClause #Macy’s #Joy

It is that time of year, when we head to Macy’s Santa Land, in Herald Square.

Going to Macy’s, on 34th Street, in Herald Square, has been a family  tradition for Christmas, going back to the birth of my son-1977.   After a time they got to old to sit on Santa’s lap.  But as soon as my first grandchild was born I reignited the tradition.  Christmas time was Macy’s Santa Land time, again.  I was very happy.  Happy I had the opportunity to recreate an unforgettable experience with my two darling grandchildren.  Sophie, being the oldest, has been going now for 10 years, and Christian, the youngest, 7 years.  Oh, how they looked forward to taking the LIRR to Herald Square, to stand on a long line, so they can tell Santa what they want for Christmas.  They are so talkative but as soon as they enter Santa’s room they fall silent.  But Santa is able to gain their trust and get them to tell him their Christmas wishes.

And once the gates are opened, they find it hard to stop talking.

As Santa sits quietly he listens attentively, as they give him their Christmas requests.  It is wonderful to see how Santa manages to bring smiles of joy to the children’s faces, as he gives them hope of finding at least one item on their list under the Christmas tree, After all is said it’s then time to take the annual Christmas Santa photo.  Santa’s elf gets their undivided attention and snaps the shot.

To my surprise, Santa got my two children to sit with him and take a picture.  WHAT a Surprise!!

Just like old times.  My daughter and my son.  Ho, Ho, Ho, Santa did it!  He gave me a Christmas present I never asked for.

Christmas time is here!  Merry Christmas!
