My daughter Vera send me a text inviting me to see Pretty Woman:The Musical and said that we would first meet up with her darling friend Natalie for some great Italian food at La Mela Restaurant. Oh Yeah!! It’s Ladies Night. I always love spending time together whenever I can. So the evening started off on Mulberry Street in Little Italy, what a great place to start. A Perfect Cosmo, followed by the Three Course Meal (always ask the waiter for suggestion, he was so right). Caprese Salad, Calamari Hot Antipasti and Famiglia Pastas because the minute you step in you are family.
There was no room for dessert but I packed up the left overs and we headed over to Broadway. I have to be honest here, Pretty Woman is my least favorite Julia Child movie ~ don’t hate me. But like I said I love to be with my daughter who is always working and I jump for the chance to be with her.
The music was fabulous, the energy was high and the cast was well, they were perfectly cast. If I had to pick a favorite character it would be Kit De Luca (what a voice, when she was on stage you were listening to her and looking at her) played by Orfeh. This is not a family friendly show I would not bring anyone under 17. No spoilers here. Because everyone deserves a second chance. Good food, good people, good entertainment, good times. Life is too short for anything else.
