Power Your Life with the Positive by Cyrus Webb #LifeLessons

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Power Your Life With the Positive is pure inspiration that will lift hearts, open minds, and create a movement of pass-it-on positivity and happiness. In these times of economic uncertainty, civic strife, and political turmoil, it’s more important than ever to offer people hope and ideas on how to believe that the best is yet to come. The everyday heros featured in Webb’s book faced their own fears, believed enough in their goals and dreams. Those featured in this book include: Grammy award-winning singer/actress Stephanie Mills, Paul T. Scheuring (creator of Fox’s Prison Break), LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow/Roots/Star Trek: The Next Generation), Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead/Birth of a Nation), Peter Engel (Executive Producer of Saved By the Bell), Antonique Smith (Notorious/Fox’sShots Fired), Actor Darrin Dewitt Henson (Soul Food, the TV show/book/movie Stomp the Yard), John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard/Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots), actor Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal and 24), and many more.  Change your mindset.

The French WorkShop #PhotoFriday #Pastries #Cookies

I recently discovered The French Workshop, which recently opened in Garden City, NY.  The French Workshop offers home made French style pastries.  The French Workshop brings a little French flair to a town on Long Island.

The French WorkShop has a variety of pastries and bread. Like Nutella Bread!

They offer an array of croissants. Hard to pick out just one Croissant.  You can’t just pick one.

The French Workshop’s mouth watering  Mascarpone Eclairs. These eclairs are a diet must.

Let’s talk cake!

I now embrace those famous  words, “Let them eat cake.” Now I go to The French Workshop to do just that.

Oh, let’s not forget them cookies.

The French Workshop is also located on Bell Blvd, Bayside, Queens

Rice Water an Ancient Asian Secret #Hair #Rinse #Ricewater #DIY

My sister recently told me about using rice water, as a rinse, to give my hair shine, and volume.  Rice water?  Of course, I had to find out more about this rice water rinse.  I found out  that rice water  is an ancient Asian secret.   Well, now that my sister knows about rice water it’s no longer a secret.  🙂   To my surprise you don’t need to buy rice water,  you make it at home.  HA!

Pictures of her new rice water hair was worth a thousand words.

Wow!  Her hair did look good.  It looked longer and thicker.

Her color was nice, too.  OK, I was sold.  Even sold faster when I found out how easy it was to make rice water.    Place a small amount of rice – rice can be as little as a tumbler full – in a bowl and cover with water.  Let this sit overnight.

Once the rice has fermented pour water through a strainer, discard the rice.  As you can see water will be cloudy.  This rice water is what you will use as the rinse in your hair.  You can leave on few minutes then rinse off or leave the rice water in your hair and style as usual.  PS – you can also use rice water on your face.

Click Here to learn how you can use Rice Water.  Of course, my sister had to send me a picture of the back of her hair.  Now she has long hair!  Something she hasn’t been able to have for many years.   Who knew that ‘Long Grain Rice’  can give you ‘Long Great Hair’.

I have started using this rinse and have noticed that my hair is not falling out as much.

Here are some of the pictures she sent me.  She also swears her hair has grown so much.  This was something she was unable to do before she started using the rice water rinse.

Groovin' Eats, recipe

2 Easy Meals In 1 Stuffed Peppers & Pasta with Meat Sauce

1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
4 peppers cut in half
1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
8 – 16  slices cheese
1 16oz can tomato sauce and 1 can full water or wine (or half water and half wine) less if you like a thick sauce
salt / pepper to taste
Heat olive oil over medium heat  in a large frying pan add salt and saute onions until soft. Add ground beef or turkey and cook stirring for 5 minutes.  Salt/pepper to taste. Add tomato sauce and water and stir gently to blend. Salt/pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer and let cook covered 15 minutes.  Meanwhile cut and clean the peppers and place on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper, layer peppers with your favorite cheese. Fill peppers with meat sauce and bake in a preheated 400 oven for 45 – 50  minutes. (time may vary according to your oven)  I also baked some taters because I like them but you can make what ever side you like. I served with a salad.
This recipe makes a lot of sauce and so next day I made some pasta and mixed in the left over sauce for a new meal. If you feel like you need more sauce – reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and add to sauce.
