Brookside Chocolate #ThatsBallsy

It’s never too late to set another goal or to dream a new dream. That’s ballsy.  Been through a lot in life. A daughter of immigrants, grew up on the streets of New York City, graduated high school, got a job then got married, had children, went back to work, survived breast cancer, became a mother in law, watched my husband beat lung cancer, still enjoying my parents,  and the best part I became a Nanna.  Life takes balls.  Love the That’s Ballsy campaign from Brookside Chocolate reminding us life is for living and loving and sharing. Yes I share my dark chocolates filled with yummy fruit with my sweet grand niece Miss Emma.

Semi retired now I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life. Growing up in the 60’s is a little different than being in my 60s’ but it is okay. One day at a time, time to live our life and forget our age.

Long Island Greek Festival #FamilyFun

Our yearly Greek Festival was here and even though rain was soon to fall, we Spartan-ed on and did not hide.  

Well, we did run under the first available tent which  just happen to be selling beer 🙂

Spinach pie is a must. Speared chicken on a stick is always a hit. Simple and delicious

The surprise of the night were the stuffed peppers!!!

Make sure you go hungry and ready to have a wonderful time.

There was Greek dancing but dancing was not on our plate.  We went for the festival games. Ring around the bottle!  Seriously, I thought, what a waste of money.   No way can we can win!  Wrong!  My daughter with her first throw rings the bottle.   Yeah!  She’s a winner!  Of a bottle of wine.  

To celebrate the win a selfie was in order.   A Greek Festival is not Ancient.
