Lucy’s Umbrella by Sara Madden #Bookworm

Lucy’s Umbrella” chronicles the story of a young girl named Lucy and her journey to find value in her vitiligo. As Lucy moves throughout her day, she takes note of the distinct designs, shapes and colors that make each person and animal stand out.  This helps her appreciate the patterns on her skin, as well as garner a fondness for nature and her surroundings.

“Young children shouldn’t be taught that there is one body shape, size or color that defines attractiveness,” Sara Madden said. “True beauty comes from within and, as a society, we need to strive for unity and the inclusion of every individual. Lucy’s Umbrella urges readers to celebrate physical differences that make each of us unique and beautiful in our own way. I hope this message resonates strongly with readers of all ages.”

Oh! Chicken breasts basted with Carolina Mustard sauce gave the chicken a yellow look and a snappy mustard taste.

Have three more to try – Kansas City, Kentucky Bourbon, Hawai’ian Style.  Which Que are you?

Marty G And The G-Men – A Three ‘D’ Night!

What makes going out with friends on a Friday night different?  Answer:  Marty G. and The G-Men.

Marty G. and The G-Men are an Oldies but Goodies Band.   Their Rock & Roll songs  bring you to:

‘Happy Days’. Not only did we dance, but we dined at La Focaccia Restaurant , in Levittown An Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria that served us up tasty dishes.

The Marsala (Chicken)  was soaked in a marsala gravey and covered with healthy mushrooms.  Sorry, Mushroom haters. Marlene and Bobbi-Ann had the Alla Focacci (proscuitto, mozzarella in red sauce).  A Italian must delight.

Our fish lovers, Carmine and Billy ordered Calamari – Scungilli Fra Diavolo  and Mixed Seafood Marinara (clams, mussels, shrimp, scungilli, calamari).

We had a  new member to the group, Peter, who ordered Cappellini Primavera.

We ate our dinner with The G-Men playing the Oldies, and danced off the calories.

PERFECT!

Who  knew that Marty G. and The G-Men could turn  a normally boring Friday night into a three night:

Date, Dinner, Dancing night.  Oh, did I mention?  One of the G-Men (Eddie) is one of our Oldie but Goodie friend.
