B.Good In Garden City #FoodWithRoots #TastyTuesday

Woo Woo They Are Here!!  B.Good is now in Garden City NY and we had the pleasure of enjoying lunch there for the Grand Opening.

All this delicious food is local, fresh and we decided to try the Seasonal Summer Specials. We made the right choice.  We had the Watermelon & Feta Salad, the Loaded  Lime Grilled Corn, The Sweet Corn Sal Bacado Burger without the bun and Sweet Potatoes on the side. Love the yummy  kids meal menu –  we chose the Grilled Hot Dog with broccoli , apple sauce (I gobbled up the carrot sticks) and a Chocolate Milk Shake. Everything was amazing and scrumptious.   Our favorite was the Mediterranean  Chicken Bowl  and Peach Cherry Smoothie. Oh and that Kale Crush!!!

To wash all this goodness down is the fresh lemonades in all these delicious, refreshing flavors that  if you want to, you get to mix and match!!  Feeling like a kid. Beet Ginger. Rosemary. Strawberry.  You got to Squeeze The Day.

We both agreed this is a fabulous place to eat good food with good people and that is why next time we are bringing our grandchildren.  Friendship is eating together.

Family, Foto Friday

Foto Friday – The Family that Parties Together…

Thought these were great pictures from my daughter’s 25th birthday party, which had an 80’s theme.  The guests did come dressed reflecting the good ole’ 80’s.   It was a great party and the guests  helped in making it interesting.

This couple really hit the ball out of the park when they showed up dressed as Pee Wee Herman, and Rainbow Brite.

No wearing clothes for my godson. Who  came dressed, well not fully dressed, as Tom Cruise in Risky Business.  He was a brave soul.My niece here is…Not sure who she’s suppose to be but she was having fun.

The birthday girl dressed as Daisy Duke, from Starsky and Hutch, and Vera loved the 80’s Ghost Buster movie.  No slime!

“Girls just want to have fun” right Cindy, and that’s exactly what we did.

Son and daughter-in-law dressed as me and my husband.  Very clever.  Ha!  Yes, a family that parties together clings together.

You know it was a good party when people still talk about it.

    • Remove your polish and let your nails breathe for a good few days. If nails look discolored, squeeze some lemon into your lotion or rub a lemon wedge directly onto the nail to brighten nails.
    • Apply a shea butter lotion or non-greasy cream to lock in moisture.
    • Begin painting! Apply a cuticle oil (see below) to the base of your nails (or even when they are already polished), focusing around the cuticle area to hydrate and bring moisture into the skin, helping the polish last longer.

With COLOR THERAPY, BY SALLY HANSEN nails can have the care they need.

Moscow Mule #CopperCups #GingerBeer #Smirnoff #Vodka

A Moscow Mule,  an alcoholic drink that was concocted by John Martin and Jack Morgan, and served up in a copper cup.  Moscow Mule, in case you are not aware is a drink with a kick – a vodka kick.

I was first introduced to Moscow Mule this past January.  What caught my attention about this drink was the Ginger Beer and the copper cup it was served in.

It is the copper cup that gives Moscow Mule its own style and distinction.  So not only is the drink a great cocktail drink but it is a drink that makes its own announcement.  There has been talk about 100%  copper cups and health , but after reading an article in businessinsider.com they point out that “You’d have to drink from a copper cup every meal of every day for 25 years,” to be poisoned by the copper.  Which means, an occasional Moscow Mule is not going to be harmful.

However, the copper cups I purchased are lined with stainless steel.

It’s time to mix it up!
