Every two years I get a pair of eyeglasses. My go to store for eye wear has always been Cohen’s, right in my neighborhood.    Cohen’s Fashion Optical carry’s a great selection of trendy, chic eye wear.

I never go wrong at Cohen’s.

Check out the pair of eye wear I purchased this past November.   Versace!

I fell right under the Versace spell with these frames.  So different!  So chic! So cool!  So trendy! IMG_4859

  Even the Versace case was screaming “STATEMENT”   

Versace is Glamour!

These were them!  The eye wear I was looking for.

Yes, these were the ones for me.  Couldn’t wait to go to work and wear them…

Versace had me totally under a spell.

However, as soon as I was home with my new glasses, I snapped out of the Versace spell because alone in my kitchen I realized the great looking eyeglasses should not have been used as my to see the words glasses.  They should have been turned into  a pair of  block the sun groovy sunglasses…

I am heading back to Cohen’s to have my chic, trendy, and glamorous  eye wear changed into a pair of cool, chic, and trendy sunglasses.

Yup, a pair of sunglasses, that will be more like me.

Here is our wrap up for the guest weekend we spent at Mount Airy Casino Resort.

It took less than 10 minutes to get our Bronze Membership cards and try our luck with the complimentary $10.00

Here is Merci in the VIP lounge. This is where the headlining performers are greeted. There is a private bar area too.

Gypsies Lounge & Nightclub is opened in the Fall and Winter.

Gypsies is a beautiful open space to enjoy the nightly entertainment.

During the summer the party is pool side  at the Get Wet Ultra Pool. Swimming is not encouraged but  sometimes it just happens 🙂

Lets Do Lunch #ChinaFunNYC

Both of us always talk about how much we miss a nice sit down Chinese Restaurant. They just seemed to go MIA during the ’90’s.  So when we got a invitation to try out China Fun NYC we were more than happy to go. China Fun NYC is a dine in, take out and delivery restaurant. There were some people eating alone  there were people with children and there were plenty of doubles like ourselves enjoying lunch.

We started off sharing the Pork Steamed Dumplings. They were so very good and we did not leave one behind.

We also shared a plate of Crispy Duck. We both love duck and this was very good. We made good use of the wet towelettes on the table. Finger licking good duck.

We were pretty full so we decided to share the Orange Beef with Broccoli and white rice. Large pieces of beef, not too spicy for us anyway. There was so much food Merci took the left over beef home for her husband. That man loves surprises.

Tuna Fish And The Hummus

I recently read an article that said that eating  fish at least once a week is a healthy choice.    Now fish is not ever on my to cook list because my husband does not like fish. UGH! But when I read that a can of  tuna fish qualifies as a weekly fish dish I was super happy because a can of tuna fish my husband will eat… 🙂  So I began to make tuna fish sandwiches at least once a week for dinner. No longer will I only consider eating tuna fish just for lunch.  A can of tuna fish will be a staple in my cabinet now that I know it is a healthy dinner meal.

I thought it was a great idea until I realized we were eating the tuna fish with mayonnaise  and I was not to happy about that… 🙁

Now I had to figure out a way of eating a can of tuna fish without the added fat of mayonnaise (10g of fat per tbspn) .

Then it hit me.  Replace the mayo with HUMMUS! IMG_5018

The tuna fish and the hummus was a perfect marriage.

Now I can eat tuna fish weekly knowing I have made a healthy choice for me and my husband.

Oh, I didn’t tell my husband that I now make  tuna fish with hummus.

Hey, what he doesn’t know will certainly help him.
