I say this because Liz and I spent a weekend at Mount Airy as their guests.

We both found Mount Airy to be relaxing, exciting, and splashing fun!

When we first arrived we roamed around just checking out the place.  We found Mount Airy easy to navigate and felt right at home in no time.  The extra friendly staff helped us to adjust to the new surroundings quickly.

We shared a  Double Queen room.  Our room had a Keurig coffee maker, an iron, a safe, and best of  all super comfortable bed.

Oh, let me not forget to mention the well stocked refrigerator in the room.  Thank goodness our check in person advised us that the slightest touch of the items in the fridge will cause a KACHING to the visa card we gave them.  Needless to say we opened the refrigerator just to look and never looked again.

After we checked out our room we headed back to the lobby to see what we could see and what we saw was fabulous.

No entry,  no access, without swiping your room key,  even the elevator needs your room key.  You should’ve seen us fumbling for the key every time we got into the elevator.   We realized very quickly… No key, No lift!   What a great way to keep your guest safe, I thought.

Getting back to the pool…as we entered the four season pool area, I wondered if we had just walked on to a movie set.  The  pool area is 51,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor heated pool with a bar and nightlife.  The Mount Airy Resort four season pool features a passage which allows a person/s to swim from the indoor pool to the outdoor pool, and vice versa.  Just watch your head!

As the evening set in the Poconos, Mount Airy’s  four season pool began to reflect an ambiance of peace and tranquility that the Pocono Mountains emanates.

Cohen’s Fashion Optical #Transitions #cohensoptical What She Wore

cohen's1

I don’t know what took me so long to get a pair of transition lenses eyewear. Eye glasses that turn into sunglasses outside, what a groovy idea!! I went  into my neighborhood Cohen’s Fashion Optical because I was getting ready for my vacation to Malta and decided to get a pair at long last.

cohen's2

I got my yearly  examination and then picked out a new pair of frames. So many to choose from but  I went for a neutral black pair. Nothing fancy but I liked them.

Let me tell you, I am so happy I did. Love my transitions!! They gradually turn onto sunglasses when I go outside, perfect!! Total damage was $289.00

The Adventures Of Fred The Fly

The Adventures Of Fred The Fly, by Joe Carr, is a story of a fly that enters a home through an open window, just like most flies do and like most flies Fred encounters the lady of the house who tried to slap him with a rolled up newspaper.  Fred makes  an attempt to exit through the open window and gets blown upward behind the roller blind at the top window… and so begins The Adventures Of Fred The Fly.

Fred’s adventures involves an enemy, Sam the Spider, and some very helpful friends, Cedric the slug and Harry the Snail.  Joe Carr’s story highlights the importance of helping those in need and encourages children to use their imagination.
With the use of vibrant colored images and a story that takes place outdoors, Carr hopes to encourage children to leave their electronic aside and get outside.

Joe Carr is a 78-year-old retired police officers who dedicated 30 years of service to the Birmingham/West Midlands area. Married for 48 years, has two daughters and six grandchildren.  “The Adventures of Fred the Fly” is a story that he read to his children and grandchildren and has been left open-ended for further adventures by the characters mentioned.

Now you can buzz into reading with kids through the story of Fred the fly.

My daughter just returned from her 3 week vacation to the land of my birth, Malta.  She was there along with Liz and her family.   When she returned home I expected to hear all about the people she met, where she went, and all the other fun stuff that a vacation can bring.  What I did not expect to hear was her announcing she will be going  back to Malta next summer to work there, so she can absorb the whole Maltese experience.  WHAT!  OMG!  My daughter returned home so into the island of Malta, and the Maltese people.  She found her heritage and culture, she announced, and wants to learn more about this little island that harbors so much sun and love.  I was happy that she had a good time and happy she found her history but not so happy about her wanting to spend her summers staying and working in Malta.  Of course, just like a mom who doesn’t want to talk about what she doesn’t want to hear I changed the subject, real quick, by asking,  “What souvenirs did you bring back?” I asked with a, let’s not discuss the summer in Malta, smile 🙂  It worked!  She stopped talking and opened a bag full of Maltese souvenirs.  She then handed me a black fan.

I spread the fan out

  Out popped the Maltese Cross.

Loved it!

The fan was so gorgeous.  I  think everyone needs to have a dressy fan.

A fan helps when I get them  “I’m so hot” flashes!

Then I find out, it was not my daughter who bought the souvenir for me.  A very important person in my life, who lives in Malta, gave it to me.

Thank you Georgia!

This simple gift will be giving me comfort and it makes me happy to know that this comfort came from you.

And it also helped to alter the discussion from daughter spending summers in Malta to gifts from the heart.

It was this souvenir that reminded me how the island of Malta spreads out her love to capture a person’s heart, and soul.
